Cleaning Printer by Charles (4/22/03 4:11 PM) reply + / -
I have a brother 6 in 1 machine MFC 7150C and the printer copies are not coming out as clear as in the past. I'm looking for help in how to clean what components and how to accomplish this to get my quality prints back?

Ha, you used the Brother word on this forum, you are about to..........

Im not familure with that model, however if it's a Laser type MFC and has the 6000 series supplies then look at your toner installation instructions for how to clean the carona wire. On the DR-6000 there is a blue plastic tab near the top rear of the Drum kit that you move from left to right and back again.

If it's one of the InkJet MFC's then I can't help you.

Brother does make 2 good products. Sewing machines and door stops :o)

Steve Murry,

That problem belongs to Charles not to me, I like Moe think brother is little better than a book end or door stop, I have an HL-8v that worked well but it uses a Canon SX engine. I also have an HL-1030, however I take issue with the fact that a new Drum Kit and toner cartridge cost more than a new 1230 so I keep well away from them

If the print is fuzzy after many cleaning cycles the printhead is likely worn. It is user replacable but at $200 cdn you better be in love with the printer.
