HP Laserjet III Display Board

HP Laserjet III Display Board by Mike Snell (4/14/03 9:58 PM) reply + / -
I have an HP Laserjet III that has a bad display/control button board. (You know the board that has the online, test and other buttons on it.) I know this because I swapped it with another known good one and the problem is solved.

The "online" switch tests good. It looks like there are only two 74LS14N chips on the board.

The malfunction is that following the POST the online light comes on and the display says "ready" but when I press the "online" button the printer will not go offline so that I can start a print test.

Does anyone have a schematic or have an idea of which chip (IC1 or IC2) is most likely to cause this problem?

Thanks,
Mike
