LaserJet 4250n Several Errors: Misprint, General..

Hello

This started with a user giving me a printout from her 4250n:

Unable to store job at printer
Insufficient disk space for this job
Delete some files from the disk before resending the job.

Apparently she tried to send a 14 page document (not sure if PDF or DOCX) two times.

I looked in the event log, found the following, and am now clueless because of the variety of messages:

# Page Code Message
50 39429 13.01.00 PAPER FEED 1, PAPER LATE JAM
49 37971 13.03.00 PAPER FEED 2, PAPER LATE JAM
48 37434 41.03.00 GENERAL MISPRINT ERROR
47 36951 13.03.00 PAPER FEED 2, PAPER LATE JAM
46 36230 13.06.00 FUSER OUTPUT, PAPER STOPPED JAM
45 35607 13.03.00 PAPER FEED 2, PAPER LATE JAM
44 35489 49 4C02 Printer Error
43 35292 13.03.00 PAPER FEED 2, PAPER LATE JAM
42 35109 13.02.00 PAPER FEED 1, PAPER STOPPED JAM
41 33745 13.03.00 PAPER FEED 2, PAPER LATE JAM
40 32202 41.03.00 GENERAL MISPRINT ERROR

I haven't started investigating/troubleshooting because really I don't know where to start.

Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you!

The printer doesn't have that many pages, but I suspect the pickup roller solenoid is sticking. Usually, you'll see that on longer print jobs as it gets hot and tends to stick more. That will allow it to pick up paper before it is supposed to and generate jams and those 41.03 undetermined paper size errors. The solenoid is on the right side in the lower left corner, held in by one screw. You clean off all the residue underneath the strike plate and you have to replace it with something. We use thin, sticky backed felt.

I do not think you are having a hardware issue. The unable to store job is a driver issue. You can try the following which works most times:

1)Click on Start, Printers and Faxes.

2)Right click on the printer icon to access the printer properties.

3)In the Device Settings tab of the printer driver, ensure that the mopier mode is disabled. Multiple copies will print without mopying. Also ensure that Job Storage is disabled.

4)Close the Printers windows and try the print job again.

Your formatter is probably bad. You could try with the power off to remove and reseat.

on the 1st problem I agree with moe your problem is most likely mopier mode on or the driver. try using pcl5 pcl6 has lots of problems the other problem is either the formatter or the firmware

Moe, You are the man. I kept getting 41.03.00 and 13.06 errors. I found the paper pickup solenoid had sticky stuff on it and was sticking after a long print. I cleaned off all the stickiness and made it worse- made a clank noise and got jammed all the time then. Then i put a small piece of rubber at the tip of the solenoid to stop it clanking. Fixed it. ran a 500 page with duplex print no problems. I was going to replace the registration unit- output roller assy- and paper tray sense buttons. Pulled may hair out for 2 days.
