HP LaserJet 2300 horizontally faded printout

On my HP LaserJet 2300 all the pages print out with sections of the page faded out (about 2 inches across) repeated across the entire page horizontally. All the information I have seen about low toner says you would see VERTICALLY oriented faded sections. I have already done the "clean printer" printout. Is this something else besides low toner? (32K page count)

hmm..Its probably the Drum that is not functioning, it is not maintaining a proper charge it may have been exposed to light , or is defective the fix is a replacement toner cartridge. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/specials/toner/hp/S249

Replacing the toner cartridge did fix the problem. Thank you very much.
