Dell 1720dn Change Internal Default Font Size by Koniowka (2/22/08 6:45 AM) reply + / -
I would like to change the font pitch from 10 to 8 on my Dell 1720dn printer. I know font is usually changed with the program you are using; however, I have this archaic DOS program that uses the printer settings only. The default font size of the printer is 10, but this is too large for my printouts from this DOS program. I need to change the pitch to 8. This is a local printer connected via parallel cable to an PC running MS Windows XP Pro.

I contacted Dell about this and they told me "at this time, there is no way to change the default font or font size in this printer." The person I spoke to stated he talked with the production team that designed this printer.

I know there is nowhere to change the font in the printer properties. I am PCL illiterate; however, I believe changing the font can be done through PCL. Has anyone information on this and if it can be done with code? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
