HP 2550L Insufficient memory error

HP 2550L Insufficient memory error by Bill_A (1/10/08 11:30 PM) reply + / -
Hi, I've been receiving an error message: "insufficient memory" on my HP 2550L after trying to print a large document from Publisher. I got it to print once, and then after that the error keeps popping up. I've dialed back some of the large photo sizes on my document and got it down to a 40MB file and still nothing. The succesful first print makes me think there should be some internal memory to the printer that ought to be able to be purged. My firmware is up to date and I just updated the driver without succesful results. 1) Is there a reasonable limit to file sizes that can be printed? 2) Is there a way to purge memory? 3) Is there a way to physically add memory?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1} You have three slots for memory chips. 320 mb-32-64-128 dimms can be used.
2}It has Automatic language switching, PCL-PS
3}HP-GL/2 vector graphics. If doc is sent using raster, it will be larger, thus take more time.
3}Raise the time out level in the driver.
4}NVRAM Init will purge the memory.

NVRAM init will also clear things that you shouldn't be resetting, like the page count and serial number, the memory it is clearing is not the memory that is being used to store an image for printing.
