HP 2200D MP Tray goes Up/Down Continuosly by mclark100 (9/11/07 9:54 AM) reply + / -
Hi,

I just replaced the Feed Roller and Separation Pad in Tray 1 (MP) Tray on a Laserjet 2200D.

Now When I turn it on while the MP Tray 1 door is open, the spring-loaded tray cycles up and down 6 times and stays in the up position, so I cannot put paper in it.

I have double checked everything and it looks ok. I have been at this for over 20 years and have never seen anything quite like this. There are no error codes, and it prints fine from tray 2.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Merrill

It will most likely be the the L-shaped arm on the MP tray pickup solenoid knocked out of place.

Thank You!! After I removed the printer drive, the spring loaded arm was actually laying on the bottom of the chassis, not even connected to the solenoid at all.

Thanks again,
Merrill
