My Apple Personal Laserwriter NTR will not turn on. Switched power cords and power strips, no lights, no fan, nothing. I'd like to get it going again. Any suggestions? I purchased this printer new in 1992 and it has been very reliable. Had to replace a scanner motor a few years back but that's all.

The power supply inside the printer needs replacing. I might have a working pull from a parts printer, that is all that's available nowadays. I'll have to check my stock and get back to you.

I "fixed" it!! All I did was to leave the power cord disconnected from the printer for a couple hours. Double checked the power cord with test light to make sure AC power was there, plugged it in and turned the power switch on. Eureka! The fan came on and the lights went thru their normal sequence. Ran off a 4-page print job just fine! Sorry to bother you guys. Thanks for being there. Thanks for listening.

Glad that the Mushroom has solved his/her problem. I have the exact same problem, and mine has not resolved itself. Tried different cords, outlets, etc. to no avail. I thought maybe it's a bad switch, but moe's power supply diagnosis sounds plausible. I would be interested in your power supply if it's still available. Could you let me know price and how difficult it is to install? I'm not technologically hopeless, but I'm not highly skilled either. I can follow directions and use a soldering iron, if that's what's needed.

I had the same problem again. Figured that was it for sure this time. Even started looking at the new printers. Then decided what the heck, let's give it one more try and shazam! it started up ok. Ran off a couple print jobs and shut it down. So it's like "wheel of fortune" with this thing. Don't know how much longer I'll put up with it. Art
