Its a common problem with this model. The EPROM chip is full or something like that cause its always writing to and from it even when the printer is on standby. Contact kyocera and they will either send out a EPROM chip to replace or a complete printer.

Just noticed your page count is pretty high when the error started, you are very lucky. All the printers with this error that I have come across only have page count of less then 500.

I had the same problem with an Fs-2000DN still under waranty. The guy from the service company just flashed the EEPROM using a cf card. Error has been fixed in less than ten minutes.

I'm having a "Call Service 0150:0000000" error on a FS-4000DN. Is it the same problem as described above for the FS-3900 ? Other thing that I consider very strange is the page count on the call service error (0000000). A few minutes before I got the error message, I printed a test page were it shows 291.513 pages printed.

Actually I'm not able to see the firmware version as this error happens right after turning the printer on, and it doesn't print at all. Where can I get the latest firmware version for FS-4000DN ?

I was thinking that mine came up with that error right away also, but I could be wrong. I actually did not do it myself. My Kyoceras were still under warranty so the company brought a USB drive with the updates on them and just plugged them into the printers, turned the printers on and let them update.

I have replaced the EEPROM (as per my post near the top) on a few of these, so that the printer will come to ready and then flashed the EEPROM via parallel port with upto firmware.

Yes in some (not all) cases simply flashing the engine firmware via CF card or USB pen will work, Parallel upgrade will not work at this point as you point out. I'll email some instructions.

I see from your posts that you have the firmware update for this problem and for cases where the printers have lost their Serial numbers and MAC addresses.
Could I please ask for a copy of both with instructions?
Many thanks

Kyo has to remote into your printer to reset serial page count and MAC address. Also if you upgrade your firmware you have to format it using a working Kyocera printer before you attempt the upgrade.

Re: Kyocera FS-3900DN Call Service 0150:0033513 by Anonymous (4/10/08 1:49 PM) reply
Nothing too serious it's just a loose drum connection. Switch off Lift the developer out as if you were removing a jam. open the side door, remove waste bottle. Press the grey square button on the end of the drum whilst pulling slightly on the drum. Slid the drum out an inch or so. Slide the drum back in firmly. Put every thing back in. switch on. Job done.

hi - found the fix to the Call Service 7410:0013360 prob. Turn printer off. Take out the toner cartridge. Then, take out the waste bottle on the left. Depress a small button on the rhs in the waste compartment until you hear it click. Replace waste bottle and toner cartridge. Turn printer on & it should be okay.

Thank you for emailing me the instructions. However, i tried doing the update via the usb (readyly availb) but when i turn the printer on it goes through the 'self test', displays 'please wait' then displays the 'call service 0150:' should it find the usb first before displaying the error? Do you think replacing the eprom would work, if so do you have any instructions on replacing it? Any help is appreciated. I will be trying the CF Card tomorrow, need to find one.

It's caused by read/writing to and from the eeprom chip on the engine board. You can either flash the firmware via cf card (that's if you can get hold of it) or replace the engine board

I found the 3900DN/4000DN firmware on the Dutch KycoceraMita website (select English language); there it can be found (oddly enough) under 'datasheet'. I've downloaded the firmware (an executable zip) and also made it into an ordinary zip, and put it here:
Could somebody help me with my printer? I got a Kyocera FS-C5200DN with a call service error F020. What does the error mean and how do I repair this problem?
Re: Kyocera FS-C5200DN by macengr (4/15/10 11:50 AM) reply
Is there a firmware update for this printer and if so, where might I find it. Also, does anyone know how I can update the sytem time as it is showing a date in 2007. Also, the printer loses its network connection and is unable to be printed to across the network after it comes out of sleep mode. The only way to make it reachable by computers on our peer-to-peer network is to turn it off, then on again. The printer has a static IP address assigned to it, fyi. Any help on the any or all of the questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, I have a FS-3900DN which casually tells me "Paper jam in printing unit". The problem only occurs when starting a print, never while printing. Temporary solution: I lift the top cover up an inch, close it again and it continues printing. I changed printing unit, picture unit, heating unit, not getting better. The plastic sensor thing below the printing unit is clean and looking good... Running FW 2F9_1/3000.008.002
Anyone an idea?
Thanks,
Flo

I tried a non OEM toner in my 3900DN and I believe I installed it prematurely, the OEM that was in was nearly full. The "After Market" toner was tight going in so I had to repeat the installation several times. At one point upon removing the A.M., I notice that the magnetic roller below had an amount of toner piled up on it. Is this detrimental to the printer? Is it the fault of the A.M. toner, or is it because I installed and removed the toner cart. too many times causing it to pile up or WHAT? Please help
