Kyocera FS-3900DN Call Service 0150:0033513

Hi,

Can anyone help me identify the problem with our Kyocera FS-3900DN which just shows Call Service 0150:0033513 on the LCD display

Thanks
150 is an engine error.
The part after it is the current page count.

I have just fixed one with this error by replacing the EEPROM on the engine board with a blank one from an electronic supplier.

It is a '24LC128 I/P'
I got mine from RS in the UK for £0.80.
It should be readily available from any electronic supplier.

As yours has only printed 432 pages, call Kyocera for a warranty repair.

IF UNDER WARRANTY SHOULD BE FREE THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MOST OF THE NEW KYOCERA'S

Hi everybody,

I'm having a "Call Service 0150:0000000" error on a FS-4000DN.
Is it the same problem as described above for the FS-3900 ?
Other thing that I consider very strange is the page count on the call service error (0000000). A few minutes before I got the error message, I printed a test page were it shows 291.513 pages printed.

Regards to all.

Hi,

I see from your posts that you have the firmware update for this problem and for cases where the printers have lost their Serial numbers and MAC addresses.

Could I please ask for a copy of both with instructions?

Many thanks

Kyo has to remote into your printer to reset serial page count and MAC address. Also if you upgrade your firmware you have to format it using a working Kyocera printer before you attempt the upgrade. - Anonymous
Thanks that has fixed the error saves me postage and packaging back to the kyocera.

How do i change the Mac address from 00:00:00:00:00:00

Hi
Missing MAC address,

HI I have 4 x FS-3900 none of them have a mac address, does anyone know how I can fix this without getting a tech out on site.
Thanks - Anonymous
Its a common problem with this model. The EPROM chip is full or something like that cause its always writing to and from it even when the printer is on standby. Contact kyocera and they will either send out a EPROM chip to replace or a complete printer.
by Anonymous on Jun 26, 2007 at 4:27am Add comment
Sorry forgot to say, they might send out a complete printer if it is still under warranty.
by Anonymous on Jun 26, 2007 at 4:29am Add comment
I got in touch with Kyocera just after my initial post.

RTB warranty 7-10 days, so we bought another one which should be here today and keep us going.

It was nothing I could fix quickly to get us going, Kyocera said it was one of the control boards.

Thanks anyway

Just noticed your page count is pretty high when the error started, you are very lucky. All the printers with this error that I have come across only have page count of less then 500.

The guy from the service company just flashed the EEPROM using a cf card. Error has been fixed in less than ten minutes.

Actually I'm not able to see the firmware version as this error happens right after turning the printer on, and it doesn't print at all.
Where can I get the latest firmware version for FS-4000DN ?

I was thinking that mine came up with that error right away also, but I could be wrong. I actually did not do it myself. My Kyoceras were still under warranty so the company brought a USB drive with the updates on them and just plugged them into the printers, turned the printers on and let them update.

I don't have the actual firmware since they brought it themselves unless there is a way to retrieve it off the printer itself.

or engine board.

obviously firmware update should be tried first. in my experiance this error is always fixed on FS2000

Hello

Just wondering if any one could email me the firmware update for a fs-4000 and instructions to upgrade via usb?
the printer i have is coming up with a 0150 error. i have replaced the PWB board still error persists and now it takes almost 15 mins to boot and comes back up with 0150:000000. unable to get it to ready stage to try update via lpt1 or n/w

Email: [email protected] or [email protected]

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated

Kind regards

Lee, - Holdsworthl
Hello kyoman,

Will just reflashing the firmware fix this?

I have replaced the EEPROM (as per my post near the top) on a few of these, so that the printer will come to ready and then flashed the EEPROM via parallel port with upto firmware.

Thanks

Yes in some (not all) cases simply flashing the engine firmware via CF card or USB pen will work, Parallel upgrade will not work at this point as you point out. I'll email some instructions.

Anyone tell me what the factory floor guys have managed to do to make the printer produce Call Service 7410:0002893
reportedly they had a paper jam that they claim to have cleard only to be greeted with the above error on screen.
by Anonymous on Apr 10, 2008 at 5:19am Add comment
Nothing too serious it's just a loose drum connection.
Switch off
Lift the developer out as if you were removing a jam.
open the side door, remove waste bottle.
Press the grey square button on the end of the drum whilst pulling slightly on the drum.
Slid the drum out an inch or so.
Slide the drum back in firmly.
Put every thing back in.
switch on.
Job done.

hi - found the fix to the Call Service 7410:0013360 prob. Turn printer off. Take out the toner cartridge. Then, take out the waste bottle on the left. Depress a small button on the rhs in the waste compartment until you hear it click.
Replace waste bottle and toner cartridge. Turn printer on & it should be okay.

FS2000D gives error message Call Service F020 when a (new) 256MB memory module is inserted.

Goes away when the module is taken out.

My thought is a faulty module (printer is Australian delivery, module came from US.)

Anyone actually know what the error code means?

I installed it correctly but I am still getting this error.Could this have caused this error, or is it related to the EEPROM chip as with all the other 0150 errors mentioned above?

It's caused by read/writing to and from the eeprom chip on the engine board. You can either flash the firmware via cf card (that's if you can get hold of it) or replace the engine board - Anonymous

I found the 3900DN/4000DN firmware on the Dutch KycoceraMita website (select English language); there it can be found (oddly enough) under 'datasheet'. I've downloaded the firmware (an executable zip) and also made it into an ordinary zip, and put it here:

http://drop.io/KM3900DN_4000DN_firmware

I've also put the manuals in there.

Is there a firmware update for this printer and if so, where might I find it. Also, does anyone know how I can update the sytem time as it is showing a date in 2007. Also, the printer loses its network connection and is unable to be printed to across the network after it comes out of sleep mode. The only way to make it reachable by computers on our peer-to-peer network is to turn it off, then on again. The printer has a static IP address assigned to it, fyi. Any help on the any or all of the questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,
I have a FS-3900DN which casually tells me "Paper jam in printing unit". The problem only occurs when starting a print, never while printing. Temporary solution: I lift the top cover up an inch, close it again and it continues printing. I changed printing unit, picture unit, heating unit, not getting better.
The plastic sensor thing below the printing unit is clean and looking good...
Running FW 2F9_1/3000.008.002

Anyone an idea?

I tried a non OEM toner in my 3900DN and I believe I installed it prematurely, the OEM that was in was nearly full. The "After Market" toner was tight going in so I had to repeat the installation several times. At one point upon removing the A.M., I notice that the magnetic roller below had an amount of toner piled up on it. Is this detrimental to the printer? Is it the fault of the A.M. toner, or is it because I installed and removed the toner cart. too many times causing it to pile up or WHAT? Please help
