The automatic document feeder (ADF) of my Samsung SCX-4521F started clicking loudly whenever I feed a document through. It looks like the roller that rides the ADF rubber pad is hopping up and down. (The noise started after I cleared an ADF jam by aggressively pulling the paper out rather than opening up the ADF cover to release the paper gently.) Documents jam 99% of the time since the clicking started. I replaced the ADF rubber pad, but that didn't solve anything. Any ideas of what could cause this?

Yes. When removing a jam, it is never wise to "aggressively" remove the paper, as it can break switches, gears, etc. In the case of the machine you have, it will jam if the guides do not actually touch the sides of the page. You likely stripped out the slip clutch that drives the pickup and feed rollers. If the machine is less than a year old, I can get you one under warranty. Email me and I will try to get you one under warranty. :-)PCRMike

I have the same printer. It will print 1 page and then give a paper jam error. There is no jam, I just have to open and close the doors to print again. I'm wondering if if I have a striped cluch too. Any advice?

I have the same unit, It prints scans perfectly; however, I can not use the top manual feeder. It jams everytime for single or multiple papers (for copy and fax). Any help would be appreciated.

If your gears are worn or broken place a rubber band around the gears this will help by using pressure to transfer motion from gear to gear. same thing happened to me and it worked.
