C2424 has been working ok,now cant get machine to start up.Swithed on,all lights no motions.checked everything opening and closing, paper tray full, waste tray empty ect.Just lights up all functions but no further.
Xerox Website says to Power Off the printer, Reseat the interface cable from the Document Feeder to the Machine (Make sure the cable is screwed on to machine securely), Power On the Machine.
The error 39,012.41 Document Feeder Optical Failure. Replace the document feeder. I am not sure if the scanner will work with the Document feeder is disconnected or not, you can try it. If the scanner bed does not work with it unplugged then try leaving it plugged in and just use the scanner bed until you can replace the Document feeder assy.
4,0XX.6x Process Control Software Fault a. Reset NVRAM and then retest. b. Ensure ground integrity for the system (see "Ensuring Ground Integrity" on page 4-73). c. Replace the EEPROM chip. d. Reboot the system.
1. From the System Setup menu, go to Information --> Troubleshooting --> Service Tools menu. 2. With the cursor at the top of the Service Tools menu, press both the Up Arrow and Down Arrow buttons to display the Hidden Service menu. 3. Reset NVRAM is in there
If that doesnt work try below. 1. Turn the system power ON. 2. Wait for the Xerox logo to begin moving across the display. 3. Before the logo is centered on the display (stops moving), press and hold the Back and Info buttons on the control panel. 4. Hold both buttons until the display reads “Beginning Service Mode Initialization”. Release the buttons and the system reboots into service mode with the Service Diagnostics menu displayed. You should find it in the function sub menu.
I hope that helps the error is not really in the service manual and this is the closest thing I could find. Also a NVRAM reset wipes out your network config so if possible print out a config page first.
Ditto on MaryTC's question. I have a C2424 with code 39,003.40:59300. It seems related to the document feeder because that component is flashing on the screen along with the error message. I have powered down, disconnected and reconnected the feeder, and powered back up with no effect.
My Xerox C2424 Prompts "unlock scan head, turn machine off, then on" I do it but keep getting the same message and cannot use the machine! anyone have any idea what to do? Also, need a service person in W. Hollywood 90048 zip. I can't find anyone! Thanks!
My Xerox C2424 workcentre is showing a system error code: 04,018.48:26230. This has happened after we have relocated our office and brought the xerox machine with us, it has worked fine previous to the move. Can anyone help PLEASE......
This fault code indicates a problem with the process control system. The printhead temperature dropped below the head cleaning needed threshold. So make sure you give the machine proper time to adjust to room temperature if moving out of a cold location. Next would be to check for damage to the wiring to the heaters. You could run the MONITOR HEATER TEST in service mode. I hope you let it cool down before you moved it. The ink resevoirs are always open so if you moved when hot ink could have spilled out onto the wiring and possibly burned through it. The machine should sit about two hours before moving. I have seen them damaged this way. Another is to make sure plugged straight into wall outlet with no other heavy machinery or heaters like, space heater, coffee makers, copier, or other laserjets on the same circuit. This machine draws lots of power and you could be getting a sag on your line.
My Xerox C2424 prompts me to add ink. I added some but the red light is still on, with the same message. Can I do something or I need to call someone? Many thanks
Printer has stopped working and all the lights are flashing and the message N2280 ID read failure error (14.1) has come up on the screen, have unplugged and replugged, looked in the manual and on the web but no explanation of this code - anyone got any ideas of what it means please?
Hi all, I solved the problem by easily taping the side of the printer, where the inks are located. And surprise!!!! It started to print. The few pages were really bad quality, but after these the printer was again good to go! Maybe I’m just lucky!

Re: same issue as patti, did you get an answer by KarinRA (11/5/09 3:49 PM) reply
I'm having the same issue as Patti. Unlock the scanner head, turn it off then back on, when we do nothing happens. Any suggestions? Patti, what happened with your machine?
After shutting down my printer about a year ago, then moving it to a new office and starting it up again yesterday, I am getting a 07,010.43:10225 error message.
Does anyone have any idea what this means, or any advice for me please?
I am getting a terrible print. Dark ink areas are splotchy with white dots. There is extra ink on the edges of the paper. I can't find the printhead to clean it. Does anyone know how to get to it? Or how to clean the print up otherwise?
Our printer keeps saying the message "Cleaning sheet needed. Load standard size paper in any tray". So, I do that, and it warms up then prints off nothing. And the message comes up again. Ive tried cancelling all pending printing jobs. I've powered down the printer and turned it back on. Still the same message everytime. Ive fed a card stock sheet backwards through the printer to clear any debris. None of this has worked. Any ideas???
Just in case anyone runs into the same problem I did, here is a tip for you. I kept getting the code 39,003.40:15452. If you look at Xerox's online support it says to turn off the machine, unplug the scanner cable, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in and turn the machine one. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. If it did work, about a day or two later, the error code would pop back up again. I called my Xerox retailer and they said if the printer was near a window, move it. Apparently the sunlight plays a trick on the scanner head. I did move it, and so far it's been a week and the error code has not popped up again. Now if only I could get back all that ink I lose when it kept recycling and printing that stupid test page everytime I turned it off!! I hope this post helps someone save $$ by not having a tech look at your machine!
