If you take a look at the cartrige a look at the cartrige there should be s small metal tab sticking out, if you move this tab back into the cartrige the printer thinks it's new. have a look at the following link (in german) "www.express"

If the CAPS LOCK light is on, you get all CAPS. Light off, all lower case. You seem to have it backward. You also don't seem to be able to read as it was explained just above where you posted.

 | Re: Re: Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Anonymous (11/18/05 2:30 AM) reply | + / - | When you replace the drum you also need to replace the 80Ma fuse which is under the large contacts on the bottom. You need to CAREFULLY prise off the smaller contact then push the fuse out.

 | Re: Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Lynn Voyles (edited 6/23/06 7:02 AM) reply | +1 + / - | To reset cartridge to read full. Also check out this link. Step 1 and Step 2 explain how to get to the new cartridge sensor and do the reset. Just remesh the gears on the small black plastic sensor with the white gear. Be carefull on reassembly to ensure the tab on the black sensor is properly fitted into its end cap slot. During or after reassembly, do not turn any gear after the two set of gears are properly meshed. Otherwise, the cartridge will not register as new upon installation.

This also works with the Epson Aculaser C900/1900 cartridges. Same cartridges.
|
 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by pkelectronics (6/29/06 12:56 PM) reply | + / - | Lynn whilst what you posted about the minolta cartridges is correct, it isn't correct to say that they are the same cartridges in the epson C900/1900. With these cartridges you have to change a fuse to force the printer to thinking it has been fitted with new ones.

|
 | Re: Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Anonymous (6/30/06 2:14 AM) reply | + / - | Sorry Paul, The Epson C900/1900 cartridges have NO fuses. A fuse is used to reset the drum unit - not the cartridges.

This is still the same toner that comes with the machine. When it ran out of black toner, will it uses other color to 'create' the black color? is that why I am still able to print?

 | Minolta Magicolor 2300 Transfer Roller Jam error by jlapolla (12/27/06 7:37 AM) reply | +3 + / - | I recently changed the fuse on the drum unit of my 2300 DL to get rid of the "End of Drum Life" message. Now I have two NEW issues. 1) Most of the time, it starts feeding paper, then shuts down with a "Transfer Roller Jam" error. 2) On rare occasions, it actually completes a print cycle, (printing a Demo page), and a second sheet of paper feeds half way through the printer and it stops there.
Is there some type of timing mark to sync the Drum to the rest of the printer? Any other suggestions?

 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Preacher (4/7/07 6:40 AM) reply | + / - | I purchased a new drum, not the whole unit, just the drum and reinstalled it in my 2300. Now half of the page has streaks in the printing. I contacted the company where I purchased the drum. They suggested I might need a new wiper blade. However, they did not carry this part and did not know where to find it. Installation was very easy and every thing else works fine, what do I do?
P.S. If I need new parts where is the best place with best price to purchase parts? Thanks for any help you might give.

 | Re: Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Anonymous (5/9/07 8:43 AM) reply | + / - | Hi there Sue,
I was trying to find new wiper blades for my epson c900/same as minolta 2300 ~ having realised that they may be the cause of my streaky prints, when I came accross the company below. It looks as if they do new wiper blades, but it also looks as if they only deal with the trade, and in view of the fact that I only need a few, they won't sell to me direct.
But if you are in the trade yourself, it might be of interest to you. And if by any chance you do at some point manage to get any, please let me know, and I will gladly buy mine from you!
Kind regards
Sundo

|
 | Re: Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Anonymous (6/11/07 2:48 AM) reply | + / - | Sticky labels usually finish up on the transfer belt, which is easily accessible. Open the printer door, remove the waste toner bin, raise the big blue lever to de-tension the belt, carefully pull the drum out (squeeze the underside of the handle under the big blue lever, and pull gently). Now look for 2 chrome knurled knobs with screwdriver slots in the end - one at upper left, the other middle right. Unscrew them (they are semi-captive, so shouldn't come fully out), and carefully pull out the whole transfer belt assembly. It has a handle on the top to make things easier. The surface is delicate, so be v careful! You can rotate the belt using the gear wheel at one end of the roller, and look for the label. The back plate can also be removed to make the search easier - just remove the cross-head screws. I clean residual glue off using alcohol (methylated spirit in the UK) and a soft cloth. Dry thoroughly. When replacing the transfer belt assembly in the printer, hold it by the top handle, tilt it up slightly at your end, and slide the bent-up end of the guide rail (on the top of the assembly) on to the rail in the printer. Push home, tighten knurled knobs, make sure blue lever is UP, slide drum carefully back in, lower big blue lever, replace waste toner bin, shut door. Good luck!

My error message is MEDIA JAM TRANSFER ROLLER There is no paper on the rollers or inside the machine at all. The prints that are coming out are printing lower on the paper and the end of the paper doesn't completely come out without a tug. Please help
|
 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by christpr (7/2/07 11:59 PM) reply | + / - | After my printer sits for awhile I will try to print to it and get a Media jam warning. I've called support and they told me to press down on the media tray. This corrects the problem temporarily but it returns after the printer sits for awhile.
Has anyone else had this problem and have you been able to fix it permanently?

 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by jwronson (7/13/07 10:23 AM) reply | + / - | I have had the same problem. The print (very light) starts lower on the page than it should, and I have to "tug" on it to get it out of the rollers - although it is about 90% out.
Seems like a start sensor or something that isn't calibrated correctly. How it got off in the first place, who knows?
I would appreciate any help in getting this problem solved too.

 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Instructor (8/13/07 4:12 PM) reply | + / - | There is a drum reset kit for about $20 (with shipping) listed on the Blujay.com site (search for Minolta 2300 drum reset). It consists of a small fuse (about $1 in bulk) and a manual that shows how to install it. Obviously, the value of this 'kit' is not in the fuse, but in the instructions.
|
 | Re: waste container by Instructor (8/13/07 4:14 PM) reply | + / - | To empty the waste container, I just take it outside to my trash bin, and dump it out. I don't think the dust is toxic, but I take some care not to breathe any of it, or get it on my clothes.

 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by JV1919 (12/18/07 12:19 PM) reply | + / - | My problem is this: My wife put some stickers through our Minolta magicolor 2300 and 5 of them peeled off inside the machine. I was able to get 4 of them off the various rollers from simply opening up the back part and sifting through the rollers with tweezers.
It seems there is one stuck deep inside somewhere I can't find?!?!
I tried taking apart the unit (lots of screws...that thing is really bolted down) and didn't find any access into the inner rollers....are there inner rollers besides the color/toner cartidges?
I tried just printing 20 blank pages and after the 12th page or so it seemed to clear up 95%, but now the wife is informing me it is streaky again.
Any suggestions? Is there a "deep cleaning" cycle like they have for inkjets?
Thanks in advacne.

 | Re: Re: Re: Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by Anonymous (12/18/07 4:58 PM) reply | + / - | Appreciate it.
By the time they get here the price would be through the roof. I may drop them a note and see if they are a 'common' item, or at least get some dimensions so I can cross them. I kinda work in the electronics industry, so I should be able to find them here.
Thanks again.

The printer leaves a large margin at the top of the page, and then reports a "paper jam at transfer roller" error.

Any help would be appreciated.

 | Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by mechanics200 (12/11/08 9:16 AM) reply | + / - | I have a model 2300w printer with two problems. The first problem involves the 8.5x11 inch paper not fully ejecting at the top after printing. The last inch or so remains and causes a paper jam error message. I used the printer selection options to change to a different size sheet only 10 inches long and the paper printed fine but did not fully eject but with no paper jam error message. The second problem is the presence of black smudges about two inches from the bottom of the sheet.
