PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! by Beverly (10/19/04 8:17 AM) reply | + / - | My boss bought this repair and maintenance kit for a hp laserjet 2200 series printer we have, but of course it was cheaper to buy one without directions. Well anyways found schematics did the best i could, and now it will not pull any paper from the print tray. I was having trouble putting the paper tray pickup assembly back together. Mostly with the paper sensor, but I finally did it right. Is it posible some gears arn't together right?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! by Craig (10/19/04 2:57 PM) reply | + / - | Sorry, I am not familiar with the model of HP at all! ... however if youhad teh pickup assembly off make sure you plugged back in any wires. For example.. on an HP 4000 if you remove the pickup asm you need to unplug the relay that activates the pickup roller and a wire that goes to a sensor.
Do you hear any clicking? does the pickup roller spin at all? also check to make sure any gears on the pickup asm got properly set into teh drive train

I assume you are talking about the lower tray and not the manual feeder. If that is the case just push up on the sensor to make the printer think there is paper and run a self test and see if the roller turns. You can only put the roller in one way and have the black and white clips secure it. If you are talking about the manual feeder that is another story. That is really a bear to work with. If I get the change I will email you some of the disassembly and reassembly instrucitons. Keep in mind if you moved the sensor flag so it is not in the middle of the sensor unit it will not pickup from the lower tray, since it will think the tray is out of paper.

I will try to get it back in the right spot. Thanx so much for the help.
