The printer will not pick up paper from tray or manual feed.

When you turn on the printer does the motor turn, lights come on and eventually the green light starys on? If yes, then when you send a print job, does the green light start to blink and the rollers attempt to pickup the paper? Have you tried a self test by pressing ther large button and releasing. When you do what happens. In other words we need much more informaiton in order to help you get the printer working again.

The motor does not turn. the green light flashes 3 times then goes to orange. When I do self test green light flashes 3 times then goes orange. The rollers never try to pick up, I think because the green light will not stay on.
I have the tray full of paper. I also tried the manual feed, with no luck. Thank you

I have the same problem w/ my hp2100. It started a couple of weeks ago, with the paper stopping in between the toner and the fuser. I had to remove the toner and manually remove the paper, and then turn off the machine to work again.

Sometimes I would get a half page spit out, and the bottom would be very faint.

This went on for about a week, and now when I send a print job, the motor turns and turns and turns...but nothing happens except the warning lights come on.

My machine is 4 years old, and hasn't had a new toner put in about 26 months due to low usage.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Do all three light come on? If so press the job cancel and go buttons at the same time to get a secondary code. Post it here and someone will tell you what the problem is. Most times with the 2100 it is the fuser not heating enough causing the fatal error.

When both are pressed and released, all three come back on.

When pressed and held, only the 2 green lights stay on, and the red light is off.

Do I need to get my tire iron out to fix it?

Jeff

LOL - He said tire iron! LOL

I feel the same way man. :)

That is equivalent to a hp error code 50. The fuser has gone bad and will need to be replaced.

The fuser...OK.

I am a very good computer user and basic fixer-upper, so I would appreciate any suggestions as to where to get a fuser, and how much they cost.

Thanks.

I love this place.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay. com%2Fws%2F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty= MetaEndSort&query=2100 fuser

Only 2 on there, but they seem to be inline with a descent price.

Sorry for some reason it got rid of a between 2100 and fuser. Copy, paste and then add a between 2100 fuser

Should work

I appreciate the info, but what is the difference between a fuser and the maintenance kit?

Thanks.
