What is the [recommended] procedure for heading the print heads on an Epson Stylus Color 1520?

Thanks in advance!

To clean Epson stylus Color print heads you can use a syringe without the needle, atach a small hose to the end of the syringe. Remove the cartriges, put the end of the hose to to nossel, atach the other end to the end of the syringe. Inject 2cc of hot water into each nossel. Before doing this put a few sheets of paper underneath where the paper comes out, this is so that any water and ink that comes out of the print head will fall onto the paper and makes easyer cleanup.

I just finished learning the hard way as I removed my print head and nossels completely, after cleaning I went to dry it and as i was waveing it in the air it hit something and fell and broke. Dont make the mistake I made, dont take your printer aprt, just use a syringer and hose to inject.

if you have the money I sujest buying a cannon. The cannon ink cartiges are the cheapest, and they have a case you can put them in while not in use so the nossels dont get cloged. Also their print head can be completly removed with ease. The cartreges dont last as long, but if you do the math it turns out to be cheaper in the long run.

Good luck,

I injected mine with 10cc of rubbing alchahol by the way, dont do that :P

Sorry I forgot to mention a few things. It will void your warenty if you do this, but if your warenty expired then there is nothing to wory about. I also forgot to mention my printer is Epson Stylus Color 640. 1520 may be differnt. Also the corect size hose to buy is a modle airplain gas engine fuel tubing. Medium sized.

Also the way epson tells you to clean cloged print heads is with the nossel cleaning utility that is accessable on the utility tab of the printer propertys found by right clicking the printer icon for your printer in the Settings Printers, located in the start menu on Windows

This does not work if your nossels are too cloged.

or.. buy the cleaning kit on this site, it has a syringe, instructions and the requisite solvent.
