This information is provide in the user manual

Paper Jam = Three orange flashes
If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing.

This is not entirely true, the three orange flashes and one green does indicate that the paper feed sensor is recording something keeping it in the up position. Let me explain. I had exactly this problem and took it to what I though was a reputable Canon Authorised repair centre. They diagnosed the problem as quote “$94 for adjusting sensor and servive.” I presume servive was a misspell for service. A month later I had exactly the same problem again and decided to poke around under the cover. I found the sensor referred to was a what I describe as a black L shaped plastic bar to the right of the printer head mechanism when it sits in the middle position. I pushed the bar gently back down with a screwdriver (there was no force involved) and the error lights disappeared without a problem since. Thanks Canon Authorised Service Centre for letting me have the pleasure of giving you $94 for doing a job half baked job…
