 | Epson printer not recognising epson cartridges by BarryJEv (11/1/09 11:32 AM) reply | + / - | I have an Epson DX7000f which I bought 2 years ago and mostly kept in storage. Last week I replaced all the cartridges with compatibles - it recognised and used them on the evening I installed them. The next day on reboot of the printer it reported and error. I checked out your site and on the basis of threads here I bought some epson cartridges. The printer gives the same error. "Cyan magenta yellow black ink cartridge error -> replace cartridges". I have wiped the chips, rebooted, reinstalled drivers, pushed the cartridges well down etc. I have contacted epson who were no help at all. Do I throw this in the bin and never buy another epson or is there any way to fix it. Epson told me to buy more ink but at £40 a go this is expensive advice. The printer is out of warranty and I only got one cartridge load of printing out of it. Very high cost per page printing :) I know all about the ruling allowing epson to rig their printers for their own ink but are they allowed to totally disable it - is that what has happened? Can anyone help?
