I have a BJC-6000 that has stopped printing black.
New tank and several cleanings to no result. Have checked internal connections and cleaned the cartridge best that I can. Has anyone else had this prob or know of a fix?

THNX,

Woody

Try Change the printhead it is user replaceable

I too think that the problem is with the print head, but I'm trying to fix the problem with out buying another print head. Just looking for suggestions on things that I may have missed or methods for REPAIR instead of replacing. I'm not above replacing, but like most everyone on the planet I'm on a budget.
The printer was not in use for about 2-3 months and I initially thoght that it would be a connection problem due to one of my kids dropping a pen inside and then trying to print. "found new words to use for the paper jams this caused!"
THNKS for any help

Re: BJC-6000 Black Ink/Waste Tank? by Deborah (6/10/02 4:25 PM) reply + / -
Everyone seems to be having problems with the black magically refusing to print -- well, me too. We've been having dry weather, plus in the last year I only print two or three times a month, and I was having problems with the color and black. I soaked everything in alcohol, with not-to-great results. I ended up replacing the cartridges -- $75 later, the color works fine, but the black doesn't put out even a stray dot, even with a brand new ink tank.

Right now, I believe the waste tank is full (I think I get the waste-tank-full-beeps when trying to run the auto head alignment -- hard to count the beeps). If anyone knows how to fix this problem, or has a good guide for ripping a BJC-6K apart and putting it back together, let me know!

At the moment, the solution is to go get a cheap printer and rip the Canon apart later when we have time...

Try this link. You should be able to find what you need there.

Check out this article, How to Clean Clogged Inkjet Printheads at: http://www.weeno.com/art/0899/140.html

It could help. Good luck!

if nothing else works try holding the printhead under hot flowing water (kitchen sink or waterboiler...) make sure that it only comes in contact with the head itself !!NOT the electrical conector!!
This might clear the blokage in the nozzles,
it did in my case..
but beware, a mate of mine broke his BJC 4300 because the electriks got wet...

I have one of these sorry machines too. It has had paper feed problems all along. While under waranty the paper feed tray was replaced and that corrected the problem for a few months. It has now stopped printing black. I replaced the print head twice. Each time it would print about 3 sheets nicely and then it would fade away. I noticed that cleaning the contacts to the print head on the printer side made it print a few more pages. It has now stopped printing in black forever. I think it needs the big boot.

i am glad & feel sorry for everyone who has this kind of printer. glad that now i know it's not just me who had been troubled by it. well, to make things short...................i DROWNED mine in the tub after so many unsuccessful fixing & pronounced it DEAD to my wife, lol. now, i'm currently shopping for a non-headache probing printer in the market. i hope i won't encounter anymore problem. good luck to all!
