bad Canon printhead?

bad Canon printhead? by Snydley (9/20/06 12:58 PM) reply + / -
I have a Canon Multipass MP730 printer and the print quality has been getting progressively worse to the point now where the colors aren't right when I print a document. I did a nozzle check and a printhead alignment and columns B,D,G,I,and J on the printed test patterns are BLANK! I removed the printhead and sprayed it with some Windex, and then rised it under the tap, and dried it out and re-tested it. It made no difference, those same rows are missing.
I'm figuring that the printhead is bad and needs replacing. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Is there anything else I can do/repair before buying a new printhead?

Thanks,
Snyde
