 | Epson Stylus CX5400 by Ralph & Lillian (1/21/06 9:43 AM) reply | + / - | We have received Epson Stylus head cleaning Solution Plus (item K89) as ordered. Our problem lies in the fact that being novices at repairing our printer, the instructions with the kit are vague. The reason is the tubing that feeds the cartridges may be disconnected, rather than clogged. I say this because we cannot get any of our brand new cartridges to print anything. All functions of the printer check out fine. At this point, I really don't know what to do. Lillian Kurtz

I checked the infamous "hose" that comes loose and sure enough it was off. I did get it re-attached with the help of my daughter, needle nose pliers, a flashlight and a thin screwdriver. What an operation!! Now I know what a surgeon feels like. Anyway, after all that surgery the printer is working but not very well. The black is fine but the colors have alot of missing lines. I'm very dissapointed with this model. I have a perfect place for this printer...the dumpster!!!

 | Re: Epson Stylus CX5400 by jgreg (3/7/06 9:49 AM) reply | + / - | My cx5400 has also fell victim to the not printing problem also. There's plenty of ink, heads have been cleaned numerous times, and I've checked the hose as mentioned above, and it is secure. Any ideas of what the problem is? It's not under warrenty anymore. Is there a number to call to see where the nearest place to take it for service? I live in central Illinois. If not, any suggestion of correcting the problem would be help full. Right now only a small dot of yellow ink prints, nothing else. Thanks.
