Epson 1280 Won't Print

Epson 1280 Won't Print by TANY (1/1/06 6:49 PM) reply + / -
So, we are trying to repair an Epson Photo 1280. It wasn't printing well, streaking etc. We had a brand new (never turned on) unit with bad frame/housing and used it to replace the main board, print head and basically everything the can be replaced (sans the plastic housing).
It power on ,goes through initialization steps (carriage moves, cleans heads...), and then a steady green light as if ready to print.
Send something to print and no ink gets deposited, NONE. It seems to do everything correctly except that actually putting ink on the paper part.
Checked the feed tube and pump (new units), new ink and checked all the connections several times. All the servos seem to function, paper feeds, carriage moves, and ink gets sucked into the cleaning pad.
HELP? Is there an initial step that new heads need?
Thanks.

TANY,
Yes, there is a voltage writing routine used when a printhead is changed out. But even if you didn't do this it should print something. Are you sure that the data cables connecting the print head are secure at both the main board and the printhead? Is it possible that you have reversed the position of one or both of them? If you gently put some cleaning fluid or ink into the printhead nozzles do you get anything at all when you do a self test?
Hope this helps.

I'm having this same problem. Where does one get replacement parts for Epson 1280 and I suppose I'll need the manual as well.
thanks
