cannon s600 w/ blinking lights

when i turn on the printer, i get the following sequence of lights: 1 green, 7 orange, repeated. whatever shall i do?

Has anyone found a result for this? I have the same problem. Cannon's web site is pretty useless and their Technical Support does not respond. Thanks!

According to the manual that came with my S600 it means that the printhead is defective. Print heads are hard to find for this printer, and relatively expensive. But since it is an amazingly fast little machine, it is probably worth the expense. The printhead is very easy to replace. I hosed mine when I tried to clean it by boiling it in a soap solution. I would not recommend this!

7 orange flashes (defective printhead) remove and re-install the printhead. Also insure that the protective tape has been removed. If re-installing the printhead does not resolve th problem, contact the Customer Care Center to replace it with a new one. This is straight out of the manual. I am having that problem, I have some printhead cleaner that I bought from the "Printer Filling Station" online. I am about to try that, then if it doesn't work I am looking to buy a new printhead. C.
