 | HP 2000c Professional by gary12 (7/3/05 8:18 AM) reply | + / - | I recently purchased a HP 2000C Printer. I have cleaned the print Heads and Cartridges with a alcohol prep pad. When I clean the print heads with the winxp software the line with the black dots nor the grey boxes will print. I have a solid black line, a solid blue yellow line, and a solid red line. I do not have a grey line like in the diagram? The black Cartridge is new. What should I do?

 | Re: HP 2000c Professional by moe  (7/3/05 9:15 AM) reply | +1 + / - | Alcohol doesn't work that well on water soluble ink. Cleaning the cartridges does absolutely nothing. We clean the heads by swishing them around in a shallow dish of hot water.

 | Re: HP 2000c Professional by Stephen (7/3/05 4:54 PM) reply | + / - | The prep pad is a really bad choice, it's pretty pure alcohol, and as Moe said, does not work on water soluble inks.
If you want to see the proof of that, then some day when you find a dry coffee ring, (coffee cup print), on a table try to clean it off with a prep pad.
And please do not clean any of the "rubber" parts on that 2000C with a prep pad, it might make things better for a little while, then when the alcohol dries up they will be worse than they were before you cleaned them.

I have the black, blue, red, and yellow bar. The grey one is still missing. I also do not have any of the grey boxes on the color test boxes. Is this a driver problem? where do I get another driver other than the one on the hp site?

For you to print blue Cyan and Magenta have to be working, same thing to print red, just different amounts of the colors the printer has available.
What happens when you try to print a document or picture?
