HP Officejet K60 reinitializes after 1 page by Stan Cordy (edited 5/26/05 12:39 PM) reply + / -
Hello all...

Printer: HP Officejet K60
O/S: Win XP Home
Driver: A140509_enu_xp package from HP
Connection: USB

I have an Officejet K60 multifunction that prints and scans great. Except it reintializes itself after printing one page of a multi page document (regardless of the application- i.e.Word, Wordpad, Notepad, et al).
Drivers are current, USB cable has been checked (and replaced), USB drivers have been removed and reinstalled.
NO error messages other than "reinitializing" and "self-test".
Unit powers down then restarts.

The only part that is NOT an HP orginal is the AC adapter.
The machine specs call for 18V - 1A. The supply I am using is 18V - 700MA. Its slighly underpowered but I've rarely had any issues in similar situations.

Is it possible that the unit is simply underpowered?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

The power supply could be the problem. Printing demands the most current. Over loading the power supply will cause the output voltage to drop.

hello all-

Power supply WAS the problem.
Replaced with an original HP adapter.
All is fine.

Thanks for the help.

If your interested in selling the old adapter, email me.

I need a 18w 700ma adapter.
