 | Epson Stylus Photo 820 Feed problems by Ernest Beer (3/16/05 3:59 AM) reply | + / - | My Epson Stylus Photo 820 prints nicely on plain 8X11 paper. When I use Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper the paper does not advance or advances too late. The result when it works is the printer starting too soon for the paper, spewing a little ink then printing on the paper with now margin on one end and a giant margin on the other end. I am using Windows XP. I don't know if the thickness or stiffness of the paper plays a role. Any ideas?

 | Re: Epson Stylus Photo 820 Feed problems by Denny Conway (3/16/05 6:02 PM) reply | + / - | Ernest: Its either a problem with the actual paper, or that the paper feed rollers are getting dirty and paper is not feeding in correctly. Other than actually trying a different type of paper stock, I would first suggest cleaning the Pick-Up/Feed-In Roller or Rollers with a "Rubber Roller Cleaner/Rubber Rejuvinator" and see if that helps. Sometimes simply cleaning and treating that rubber roller or rollers will make all the difference on paper feeding problems. Some of the best Rubber Roller Rejuvenator that I have ever used, is available in a can: Price = $10, plus shipping, from "fixyourownprinter.com", at http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/specials/misc/chemicals/S03...Good Luck! | Re: Epson Stylus Photo 820 Feed problems by Denny Conway (3/17/05 9:31 AM) reply | + / - | Ernest: I wanted to let you know, that there is a free download of an "Epson Stylus Photo 810/820 Service Manual", from fixyourownprinter.com, at http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/manuals/public/epson . That manual may be of some help as reference in disassembly, troubleshooting and servicing, of your printers paper feed problem. You will probably need to at least remove the Top Cover Assembly, just to be able to service those feed rollers. Once that covers off, you may even be able to spot what is actually causing your printers problem...Again, Good Luck! Denny Conway

 | Re: Epson Stylus Photo 820 Feed problems by Denny Conway (4/4/05 11:14 AM) reply | + / - | Ayhil: You can delete your printer and its drivers and then download the latest available drivers from the Epson Home Page at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/index.jsp . As drivers are FREE, I usually recommend trying those first if you have a possible communication problem. Bad or corrupted drivers can cause many problems. DEINSTALL [remove] your old printers first and then go to the epson.com web-site. Click-on your particular area, where you live [example: USA]. Then click-on DRIVERS AND SUPPORT and then click-on your particular type of Epson Printer [example: INKJET]. Look under the Ink Jet Printers for your "Epson Stylus Photo 820" and click-on it. Once the DRIVERS & DOWNLOAD PAGE opens, read the INFORMATION to locate your particular SYSTEM [Win's 95,98,ME,2000.etc.] and then click-on it. Follow the directions and read all the available information concerning your systems driver downloads. Finally at the bottom of the page, click-on "Printer Software Installation for Windows ___ [Epson Printers]", or the "Download" option button. After the downloading utility opens, read the download information available, make your choices and complete the installation...Good Luck! Denny Conway
