 | HP 3820 +flashes but does nothing else by Steve (1/9/05 8:14 PM) reply | + / - | Hi guys,
I've got a HP 3820 that does nothing but flashes a green LED (bottom most LED next to power button). The Light stays on when first powered up but if a print is sent to it, the light then flashes (as if it was receiving data) but then will do nothing (not even pick up paper). Any help would be great. Thank you.
Regards Steve

Turn the printer off then back on. once it has gone through its start up prodecdure, press and hold the resume button till you here it starting up.It will print a picture of a waterfall. If it does do the above properly, what you have is a driver issue in your computer and will have to delete the old ones and reinstall new ones.HTHs Rob

thanks for your help. Rob, I've tried what you said but it wont print. light flashes then just goes back to constant but no print. Dave, where abouts is this cog located? within the purge unit itself? once again thanks

Everything seem out of synchronize. When switch on, it feed one sheet. Cartage moves over to left, cleaning station plays around then cartage move back to cleaning station. Then it is ready, but nothing happens further, does not print, feed paper etc.

A pin on one of the service station drive gears breaks off and disables the service station. This happens about year after the printer is put in service if it is used regularly. Spare parts were never available from HP.
