 | Hp officejet g85 by Zoe (12/9/04 8:40 PM) reply | + / - | I have a HP officejet G85 and Windows ME, apparently this printer worked perfectly with XP and has been handed down to me.
I finally got the printer hooked up by getting the USB patch from HP site. It now prints and copys but I get an error for the scanner. Am I missing something?

Run uninstall in the G85 program group, then reinstall the driver again.
FYI: ME is not generally liked by computer techs, i.e. it is considered buggy.

| Re: Hp officejet g85 by Funkified (12/10/04 1:02 PM) reply | + / - | Yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled the lastest drivers twice now, and I am trying to convince the management to upgrade all comp hardware and move to XP could happen in the new year but that doesnt help my problem at present as I really need to use the scanner. The error message I am getting is that the scanner cant be initialized and the error icon shows that the printer is disconnected but I can print with no problems so I know that the communication is getting through. We use Nortons Internet Security and it is kept up to date.

In my case the OfficeJet G85 worked perfectly on my previous ME operating system but now is not doing so good on my new computer, which has an XP system. The printer, copier and fax work fine but the scanner will not run. I get a message, "Sorry, scanner could not be initiated (Scanner not found.) Sound familiar, Funkified? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
