I assume you are running HP Officejet G Series - Director on the computer. Run Director and select Scan, then select File, and then Scan Settings. Open each tab and use Reset to return everything to it's default setting.

The G85 software may be corrupted. Uninstall the software and reinstall it. The Program Group created when you did the original installion should include an uninstaller. Select Start on the Task Bar, then select Programs, and then HP Officejet G Series to find the uninstaller.
