 | HP Deskjet 3820 by Mary Anne (11/22/04 2:47 PM) reply | + / - | For those of you who also had your HP Deskjet 3820 crap out, please contact me or reply with the type of printer you bought to replace it with. Also, I have some unused cartridges if anyone is interested.

I let them know that I will never buy an HP product again and that I will pass along my experience with my 3820 printer. My cost per page printed averaged about 2 dollars per page and I was still on my first printer cartridges when it broke. My printer failed at an especially critical time which compounds the bad experience I had with it. This has become ingrained in my mind and I will make sure to always steer far away from any HP products from now on. This company is in it for the quick buck and my prediction is that it will fall by the wayside like all the other companies who thought consumers would eat their CRAP.......

Now why don't you search the forums for Epson's with clogged print heads, and Brother's with a 41 error.

You really can't expect a company to have a deal like that forever. Admittedly the 3820 was a piece of junk, but for some weird reason people seem to love it. Go figure. So if you want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire, go for it. Buy an Epson, or a Brother or a Lexmark. You'll be back in 6 months crying about what a piece of crap you bought. I'm not a big fan of inkjets, but as a tech, if I were buying one it would be HP.
