I printed off a power failure report for the G85 we have at our school. The report gives a very generic type message- "A power failure occurred during the following fax(es):". It then lists 3 faxes below this message. Should I be looking at the external power supply or the something on one of the main boards? When I checked the unit the power came on just fine. I ran the unit through the self checks and it indicated pass. It seems to be an intermittent problem. I will try to find out more information if it does this again. This is all the info I was given from the principal. If there are some other symptoms to watch for let me know. I will try to look out for them. Your reply is appreciated.

An intermittent problem is the hardest to track. I suggest finding out if there has been an AC power line failure. It could have been momentary. Look for a poor connection at the AC wall outlet. Some of them are old and loose. Wiggle the power supply cables. Sometimes they develop internal breaks that are invisible. The connector on the printer that the power supply plugs into could have a faulty connection. It is soldered directly into the main electronics board.
