Epson Stylus C80 print jam by Abha (10/27/04 3:18 PM) reply + / -
I have one of these printers and it will not print at all. All 3 lights blink on the top when it is turned on. How can I fix it?? RSVP. Thanks.

Abha

All three LED flashing or blinking indicates a maintenance request error. Replace the waste ink pads and reset the waste ink counter. There's a program which supposedly resets the waste ink counter. Download the program at http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html

Abha: Unfortunatly, that "SSC Service Utility" does not work on all Epson Printers and not on all Operating Systems and sometimes will not even work on actually listed printer models, so you will have to check it out for yourself. Just in case that source does not work: You may actually need to go on-line to try and locate a "SERVICE MANUAL" or a "RESET PROCEDURE", to buy and download for reference in disassembly, troubleshooting and servicing. I have not checked, but you can normally find Service Manuals for most Epson Printers, from 2manuals.com, at http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=2_18 (most Service Manuals can usually be downloaded for around $10 /- ). You can also find most Service Adjustment Programs/Resets from 2manuals.com, at http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=1_56_50 . There is an "Epson Stylus C70/C80 Printer Information Page", that you can view at http://www.inkjetprinterhelp.us/c80.html . It does have a section on the left side you can click-on, titled WASTE INK PAD SERVICING, that will be of some help to you, if you want to try the needed servicing. However, you may still need to go on-line and buy and download the actual Reset Procedure, to clear the actual Service Error Condition, if that SSC Utility does not work for you...The only other source for a FREE RESET PROCEDURE [that I know of] is one posted earlier by WES on this Printer Repair Site: www.resetters.com . Because that site is actually a Russian Site, it is of course hard to figure out. You will probably need to use sime type of TRANSLATION PROGRAM, such as "ImTranslator/PROMT Online", at http://www.paralink.com/ims/ , just to be able to try and use it...Good Luck! Denny Conway
