I have an HP OfficeJet 5110 which will not 'initialize'. I've gone through all the tests with 'tech support' to no avail. They just recommend taking/sending it to an authorized repair center. Sure! I suspect that the PC board was damaged by a voltage surge.
Anyway, I've completely disassembled it (except for the control panel unit)and it is now just a box of parts, all of which seem to be in good mechanical condition. I read several threads on this forum commenting on a broken plastic gear and thought that maybe someone could use the one from my 5110. I'm not sure which gear it is that is breaking since mine all look good, but if someone needs it I will send them one or all the gears from the printer.
All the other parts are also available - I have no use for them. Anyone interested email me at skyrider2@rediffmail.com. If you can identify the part I'll send it to you. First come, first served.
