Carolyn: You can always delete your printer and then download the latest available Printer Drivers for free, from the Epson Home Page at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/index.jsp . That should also reinstall your Printer Utility automatically. "DEINSTALL" [remove] your old drivers/printer first and then go to the "EPSON.COM" web-site. Click-on your particular area, where you live [example: USA]. Then click-on "DRIVERS AND SUPPORT" and then click-on your particular type of Epson Printer [example: INKJET]. Look under the "Ink Jet Printers" for your "Epson Stylus C80" and click-on it. Once the "DOWNLOAD PAGE" opens, read the INFORMATION to locate your particular SYSTEM [Win's 95,98,ME,2000.etc.] and then click-on it. Follow the directions and read all the available information concerning your systems driver downloads. Finally at the bottom of the page, click-on "Printer Software Installation for Windows ___ [Epson Printers]", or the "Download" option button. After the downloading utility opens, read the download information available, make your choices and complete the installation...Unfortunatly, that will not help the problem of the ink not printing. If your printers "Red Ink Error Light" is not actually on, but it still will not print in black or colors [even though your cartridges have ink in them], then its possible that you may have a different problem, which unfortunatly seems to be quite common on the C80 printer. If you were to do a search on this Printer Repair Site [under your Epson C80 printer], you would see that you are not alone in your problem. I've read several posted messages on this Printer Repair Site on just that particular problem. I recommend that you do a general search on the "fixyourownprinter.com" printer repair site, under your C80 printer and then you can read about other peoples experiences, their advise and even what they have tried, sometimes successfully. It seems like most of the problems are not actually related to clogging, or even a bad or empty ink cartridge, but is usually more of a Hardware/Parts Failure, but no way for me to really know. It seems to happen most of the time, just by simply repacing the ink cartridges, as normal. I know this information does not really give you that much to go on, but I felt you should know about other peoples reports, just in case it happens to apply in your case. There is an "Epson C70/C80 Printer Information Page" available at http://epsonhelp.freehttp.com/c80.html , that may be of some help. You may still need a Service Manual for any in-depth troubleshooting and disassembly, but judging by most of the posted messages, even with a service manual for reference, it may not actually help. Its also possible that the actual Printhead Assembly on your printer is failing, or that the Main Board Assembly is failing. In some more expensive printers, you may want to get an estimate to replace the printhead assembly, but as a general rule, its not really economical to do in the smaller Epson ink jet style printers. You can generally buy a new small printer cheaper than you can have your old one repaired for. EXAMPLE: The printhead assembly in your "C80" Printer sells for around $120 to $130, just for the part irself...Good Luck! Denny Conway Conway
