Hp HP LaserJet 8150

HP Laserjet 8150, 50.1 fuser error

I have an Hp laserjet 8150 that has a 50.1 fuser error. The error occurs during the initializating. I replaced the fuser, DC control board, Ac Power supply, Fuser Cable and then I replaced the fuser again (to be sure). I am stuck and have had this printer for repair going on a month. Any suggestions? Please!
LVPS. It is a very common problem with the LJ 8150. That is why the LVPS' are in short supply

I have swapped the formatter board, LVPS, and fuser with know working parts and this error still will not go away. I have succesfully gotten rid of the error on a handful of other 8150's in the past by swaping the LVPS but not this time. Any other suggestions beyond these?

You need to check the voltage coming out of the socket the printer is hooked up to. You have replaced everything that would give you the error. The two time I had the error and new fuser did not work it was the ac power unit which fixed it. Are you sure you go a good ac power unit? Nothing else to offer.

I have same problem with my LaserJet 8150, I changed the Fuser it did't fix the problem. I took the old fuser to another LaserJet 8150, and it is working fine. I am not sure is ac power unit has problem or not. Did you changed the power unit? Did it fixed the problem?

The times I had the issue it was the power supply6 unit. They tell you to check the cable going from the ac power supply to the fuser, but it is never the cable.

Hi Dewaine,
Welcome back to the board. We've missed you. Did you get tired of the HP forum or did they ask you to leave too. They don't appreciate talent over there.

Did you swap all of these parts at the same time? You did not mention if you swapped all of them at the same time or just one at a time. Could be possible the fuser and LVPS has gone bad at the same time. Try swapping them both out. I have seen it happen.

Most of the time it is the Low Voltage Power Supply...

And HP is providing free replacements! (most of the time)

There is a service note, it has been documented in other threads.

I'm having this problem too and would love to have the HP service note in-hand when I call up HP - have looked through all the threads about lvps and didn't see anything specific about the note (or on HP's website). Does anyone actually have the official service note?

Service notes can not be given out to the general public. One of HPs rules. You need to contact a service provider in your area and have him check to see if your model and serial number are covered by the service note. Older 8150s are not. If you want send me a email with your model number CXXXX and serial number and I will check to see if your printer is covered.

Here is my info C4267A Serial # JPBLL42413, can you tell me if this machine is in the service note and how to pursue getting it fixed if it is? - Anonymous
The following thread has a link to the HP AWDP Locator Link (Service Provider):

That thread also has some information about AWDP's who post on this forum.

If you list the C number and the serial number of your 3 printers I will look it up to see if they are on the list.

I have the exact same issue. Would you be able to check on this model C4267A and s/n USBLM14230.

The service note expired I believe in June so you can not get the part replaced for free.

Hi, Thanks for help - replaced LVPS and no longer have 50.1 fuser error. Only problem was getting cover off and on the printer.

Everyone,

I have 3 8150's still in service but have one with a LVPS failure producing a 50.1 fuser error. Does anyone have a source to purchase these at this point in time?

Thanks 1!!

Many places carry it. Metrofuser.com, depot-america.com. partsnow.com are few that sell you a refurb on advanced exchange.
