| Re: hp deskjet 3816 no print by Bert  (8/25/04 1:05 PM) reply | + / - | I'm not familiar with the Deskjet 3816, but if it is a European version of the Deskjet 3820, there are two things you can do, otherwise it is not repairable because HP does not sell spare parts for it. The Deskjet 3820 is perhaps the most unreliable printer HP has ever produced.
1. Clean the cartridge and carriage electrical contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. If necessary, confirm that you have good cartridges by testing them in another printer. Even new cartridges go bad.
2. Remove the rear access door and clean the feed rollers with a damp cloth.
