 | HP 550C by Don (8/1/04 9:58 PM) reply | + / - | I have an HP 550C that I dearly love, but after sending it back to Oregon several times, the warranty ran out and I had to stop using it. The part that raises up against the print head when parked will not release and that causes the belt to jump and the printer to reset. I tried to buy parts to fix it myself, but the part list did not list those parts. Why does this happen and how can I fix it so it will stay fixed.

There are no parts available execpt recycled parts. The DJ 540 has parts that can be recycled into your 550, assuming that you can find one with a good service station. The only thing that won't match up is the squeegees and stoppers and those can be taken off of your broken service station. You would be much better off considering a more modern printer.
