My epson C43SX priinter hangs while printing, then continues, then hangs again, then continues printing. i notice that when I ty to print documents with big images, it hangs and rejects the paper leaving me with unfinished prints. Also, some long test documents that I print hangs thens ometimes it rejects it too. I tried the printer in other PCs and it works perfectly.. So there's something wrong with my PC... does anyone know what is it?
There can be more than one cause for the problem. But the most common causes are the driver, the printer cable or the printer cable commection or a configuration problem on the printer/usb port.
If the printer works fine on other computers then the printer can be ruled out as having a problem. But did you use the same printer cable?. Are the other computers using older/newer drivers or operating systems?
The easiest thing to do is update the drivers. You can go to Epson at www.epson.com and get the updated driver. Also drivers can get corrupted so updating the driver is always a good idea.
These are just a few things to look for. But I hope they help.

I tried a different printer cable for this printer at home and it still does the same problem. I have downloaded the latest drivers already and it still has the problem...
The other PC where i tested it was running in windows 98...
but still before, my old printer, epson stylus c20 was working fine with my pc with windows xp until 1 day, I dont know why, but it did the problem.. it hangs while printing and sometimes ejects the document. That's why I bought the new epson stylus c43sx because i thought my epson stylus c20 was broken. but still, it did the same thing... it still hangs... so it is definetley my PC..... so my question is, what is wrong with my PC? Please help! Thanks!

thanks denny.. well I think maybe my printer is not compatible with my PC? Or it has low memory because I tried to print a document with text and a big colored graphic. It always printed up to the text part then it always stops printing when the graphic part comes and then rejects the paper. So what I did is, First I printed the graphic part, which worked, then I printed the text part over the graphic. I think it has something to do with memory because the printer cant print graphics and text at the same time.
Robert: Both the C20 & C43SX printers are compatible with your computer and with both Win's 98 & XP, as long as the correct Printer Drivers are loaded. Its not a printer memory problem either, because there is no actual memory that can be increased in an ink jet style printer. Basically, an ink jet printer does not use memory to store any data or information thats coming from your computer system. That information is stored in your computers memory or Printer Que and then sent to the printer as data, thru the printer cable. The printers job is to simply process the information [data] and print out the job that was sent to it from your computer system. That data is actually communication which tells the printer what to print. Your printer will normally work, unless there is something wrong in your computer system, such as: internal settings, software problems, a virus, failing printer cable [which you changed], or even corrupted printer drivers. If your printer worked ok when connected to that other computer system, that was using Win's 98, then you can assume that its a problem in your Computer System, or its Win's XP Operating System. Try printing out a simular job, using a different software program, like Office, Word, or even from your e-mail. If it prints ok from e-mail, or word, or office, then it may simply be the software program that you were trying to use origionally, thats causing possible problems...Denny Conway
preranamotors: You will have to go on-line to Epson Company and actually download the free Printer Drivers that you need for each different Operating Systems. You can delete your old drivers and download the latest available drivers from the Epson Home Page at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/index.jsp . As drivers are FREE, I usually recommend trying those first if you have a communication problem. Bad or corrupted drivers can cause many problems. "DEINSTALL" [remove] your old drivers/printer first and then go to the "EPSON.COM" web-site. Look under "DRIVERS AND SUPPORT" and then click-on "DRIVERS AND DOWNLOADS". Look under the "Ink Jet Printers" for your "Epson Stylus Color ___" and click-on it. Once the "DOWNLOAD PAGE" opens, read the INFORMATION to locate your particular SYSTEM [Win's 95,98,ME,2000.etc.] and then click-on it. Follow the directions and read all the available information concerning your systems driver downloads. Finally at the bottom of the page, click-on "Printer Software Installation for Windows ___ [Epson Printers]", or the "Download" option button. After the downloading utility opens, read the download information available, make your choices and complete the installation...Good Luck! Denny Conway

I have noticed something new about my printer's performance. It stops right? (please read my previous posts above for more info about the problem) But I discovered that when the PC is on a fresh restart, and I print, it doesnt stop or hang at all. It only hangs when I have already done so much tasks, open some programs, then prints. That's when it stops. But when the computer is on a fresh start and I print, it doesnt hang at alL! Any clue to this problem anyone? Thanks!

hi.. i kinda ost the cd installer of my epson stylus c43sx.. and i just have my computer reformated.. is there anywhere else i can get an installer? or can i install it from the internet.. is there a site that provides this kind of services? pls help...

After 1 year, I FINALLY solved the mysterious problem of this Epson stylus c43sx printer. How?
My computer short circuited last week and because of that, the windows software itself got badly damaged. I had to reformat my PC. After reformatting my PC, the printer works fine again. Thanks to all of you for your kind help!

L.C: I've tried for many ways to print my documents but the printer stop and hang,even the printing monitor status were showing on my tray but the printer did not work at all.I tried to update my driver but it seems to be same problem.after that I open up the cover to check and I found that the rolling motor hanging there untill I restart the printer it just rolled a little bit,I just can do nothing right now,because it can't rolls out to let me replace the cartridge. i hope somebody here will help me to solve my problem here as soon as possible... thank you.
