have an s520 thats playing up, it printed fine 5 minutes before the error.
what happens now is that when the printer turns on the light comes on and the carriage flicks a bit to make a noise then it turns off all within the space of 2 seconds.
i have tried another computer and its the same.
i have done some reading and found possible causes/solutions. I have managed to find a way of getting the printer to come on fully, this requires me to take out the ink cartridge and turn it on and it will boot fully, i then replace it and the orange light comes on 7 times:
long green
7 orange
long green
i have tried some of the reset codes but no luck
any ideas?

the printer will now turn on and try to print but when i print it takes ages and end up printing a blank page, it also dicsonnects and xp reports it as being offline when its turned off and the noise goes to indicate a usb device has been removed, same as when its being turned on
every operation seems fine it acts normally except for not actually printing

Try removing cartridges and printhead and blowing it out. One place suggested using rinsing printhead with vinegar and water, then blowing out. I think if you use water, use distilled so the minerals in the water don't clot the head. Tried it and it worked.
