Before you go to all of that trouble, is the carriage jamed to the right? The 5110 has the same mechanism as the notoriously unreliable Deskjet 3820. I've only taken apart one 5110 so my memory is a little fuzzy. Maybe someone else has more experience. Regardless, visit the website to see what you may be in for if you have a carriage jam.
