I noticed that the installer that was given to me was for EPSON STYLUS C43 Series, my printer's specs says its a C43SX. Is it possible that I was given the wrong installer? Or was it supposed to work for all the C43 series including that of mine?

The Epson USA & Epson UK web-sites do not list a "C43SX", but the Epson Australia web-site does, at http://tech.epson.com.au/downloads/downloads_categories_inkjet.asp . You can always go to that site and download the correct Printer Driver for your printer. Simply enter your Operating System and click-on the SEARCH BUTTON. Read the information, make any choices and follow the prompts, to download the newest C43SX Printer Drivers from that site. If that does not help, then you may need help from a Computer Technician, because your problem may be in your Computer System, rather than your pinter. You can also contact Epson Technical Support for possible help and assistance, off that same web-site, at http://tech.epson.com.au/contact/contact.asp ...Good Luck! Denny Conway

| Re: epson stylus C43SX by Denny Conway (4/12/05 10:17 AM) reply | + / - | betok: A Service Error where all LED's/Lights are flashing at the same time [some models the lights will be alternatly blinking], or where you get an "Unknown Error Message", or a "General Error Message", or even a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is to replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones and then reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter. If you just reset the counter and don't replace the pads, then your printers old pads will eventually overflow and normally start leaking ink out the bottom of your printer. You can see "Exploded Parts Diagrams" of most Epson Ink Jet Printers and can also check on possible parts ordering, by Compass Micro Inc, at http://www.compassmicro.com/parts_select.cfm . Some people actually wash the ink out of the old pads, by holding them under running cold water. Then they simply dry them out and reinstall them back into their printer. The choice on what to actually do, is yours to make. I would at least recommend getting that Waste Ink Counter reset procedure and performing it first, to make sure your printer will then work. There is an "Epson Stylus C60 Printer Information Page", that also includes the C43 series, that you can view at http://epsonhelp.freehttp.com/C60.html . It does have a section on the left side you can click-on, titled WASTE INK PAD SERVICING and also a section titled HOUSING REMOVAL, that will be of some help to you, if you want to try the needed servicing. However, you will still need to go on-line and buy and download the actual Reset Procedure, to clear the actual Service Error Condition, if the SSC Service Utility listed below does not actually work on your model of epson printer and your computers operating system...THIS ADDITIONAL INFO MIGHT ALSO BE OF SOME HELP: Tim H 12/10/2003 2:46:24 Subject: Epson Reset Program Download Location. after a long search for a reset program for waste ink, without paying, i found it. goto: http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/sscserve.exe . please check that your printer is compatible goto: http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html . this program has other features as well...Here's some previously posted info by NEWUSER, on that SSC Utility: Re: Epson C40+ Error and power light flashing by newuser (4/5/05 11:10 AM). To reset the error download this utility:

Once installed run the program and configure it, closing the main window and right clicking the icon in the tray area, from there choose Configure and select your printers model. After configuration, select Protection counter -> Reset protection counter, it should be able to clear the error message. If that does not actually work, then the only suggestion I can give is to perform a soft-reset before resetting counter. Remove also the Epson status agent, it detects errors and it may hinder communication with the printer, then reboot your pc. As profile choose the one sscservice didn't use after autoconfiguration, check for printer response. Remember that you should also clean the waste ink pads located at the printer bottom, for a step by step guide download the service manual for your printer from this site: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/manuals/public/epson . For a more in-depth procedure by NEWUSER, go to his site at http://myprinter.altervista.org/simplefaq/mysimplefaq.html#counter ....Unfortunatly, that "SSC Service Utility" does not work on all Epson Printers and not on all Operating Systems and sometimes will not even work on actually listed printer models, so you will have to check it out for yourself. Just in case that source does not work: You may actually need to go on-line to try and locate a "SERVICE MANUAL" and or the actual "RESET PROCEDURE", to buy and download for reference in disassembly, troubleshooting and servicing. I have not checked, but you can normally find Service Manuals & Reset Procedures for most Epson Printers, from "Manuals 4 You" at http://www.manuals4you.com . http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=2_18 ...Good Luck! | Re: epson stylus C43SX by josue (12/7/05 9:40 PM) reply | + / - | I have problem with my C43SX printer. the lights are alternately blinking. i have read that it is caused by waste ink pad error/overflow so i cleaned up my waste pad, download and install ssc utility 4.0 for resetting but i got a communication error so i download and install an updated driver (for win98)and eliminates the error. now it says, "printer off, or some other problem". I also tried the soft reset but i still get the same message. Is there still a remedy for this problem? thanks

That problem is usually caused by the paper pickup pads getting too much paper dust on then. Remove the paper and look inside the paper tray. You will see two pads usually green and brown. Clean them with a damp q-tip and that will usually fis the problem.

Go to the Epson web site. Select your region of the world. Then click on Drivers and Support then follow the prompts.

I already performed head cleaning but still has same result. Hope someone could tell me what I can do to troubleshoot it. Thanks.

i purchased a usb to parallel cable for my printer epson stylus c43sx because my parallel port on the motherboard of my pc was damaged.
my remedy now is to use my usb port for my parallel printer but the cable did not recognized my printer.
anybody can help me to find a driver to my cable for my printer...

I got the problem once in my new PC so i plugged it into the old PC where there was no problem. Then connected back to the new PC and it was working fine. But after changing the ink cartridge it started giving communication error again. I tried putting in the old cartridges but in vain. Now I am getting the problem in the old pc as well. Any suggestions????
