Are you sure it wasn't the service station that ran over? This happens sometimes on the K60 and similar models. I can't remember whether the Torx screws in the top are T10 or T20. You might want to have both driver sizes available.
Before you begin, turn on the power and open the hinged cover to allow the carriage to exit the service station, then unplug the power.
First, the side covers and hinged cover will have to come off. There are four Torx screws on the top. Remove these and both side covers will hinge outward. There may be some clips that you will have to deal with, but with some cautious persuasion they will release. A medium sized slot style screwdriver can be used to pry in areas that seem to have these latches. Once the side covers and hinged cover are off, the scanner will have to be removed. Unplug it's cable and remove the two T10 Torx screws inside the area that that was concealed by the hinged cover. Once the screws are removed, the scanner will hinge forward and lift off.
Second, take off the inner cover by removing four T10 Torx screws. You may have to unplug some cables before it will lift off. Once the inner cover is off, you can see the extent of the spill or leak.
If the service station is where the leak began, the only way to do a reasonable cleaning is to remove it. Get back to me if it's the source and I'll put together some info on how to remove it.
