I have one lexmark Laser Printer II (Data General 6913) Machine-type:4049-12R I need a driver for windows XP. Where I can find it? Please help me!! Thanks you
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (1/16/04 5:57 PM)
WaSKaN: Its the manufactors responsibility to make drivers for their products, but not all manufactors created Win's XP Drivers for their older printer lines. Check the Lexmark Customer Service web-site, at " http://support.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/selections.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0&e meaframe=&target=http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi& " and see if they produced a Win's XP Driver for your particular printer. If not, then either try a different printer driver and see if it will work [such as Wins 2000], or see if XP will install a printer driver that you can use, or do a search on GOOGLE for any available Win's XP Driver for your printer...Denny Conway
Re: driver lexmark by dmzcompute (1/16/04 7:47 PM)
The 4049 is the Lexmark Optra R which has the driver built into the xp operating system. This is of course contingent on them using the same formatter electronics as lexmark.
I can not communicate with my printer. How do I clean files? Printer was jammed, paper removed and now it runs when turned on but won't put paper through printer. Just runs.
I HAVE THIS COMPUTER THAT DON'T MATCH THE PRINTER AND I CAN'T GET IT TO DOWNLOAD TO MY COMPUTER SO I CAN USE MY PRINTER. SO IF YOU CAN PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET MY PRINTER TO DOWNLOAD TO MY COMPUTER SO I CAN START PRINTING,I ALSO NEED TO KNOW IF I NEED SOME INK IN THE PRINTER. BECAUSE I BROUGHT IT FROM SOMEBODY. THANK YOU! PLEASE WRITE ME BACK.
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (2/2/04 5:54 PM)
Lindsey: You did not tell us your actual printer make and model, or even what your Operating System on your computer was, but I'm assuming its a Lexmark Printer. Check the Lexmark Customer Service web-site, at " http://support.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/selections.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0&e meaframe=&target=http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi& " and see if they produced a printer driver for your particular Operating System, that you can download to your computer. Once that is completed, hopefully you will be able to attach your printer to your computer and possibly find out how much ink is remaining in your ink cartridges. Also check thru the Lexmark Home Page and see if they have an on-line Owners Manual/Users Manual available [if you do not actually have one already], so you can read about and learn about your particular printer...Good Luck! My Lexmark is x 1150 but the book I have is for x 1100, I get a message that the seriel # does not match the printer. I can not get the printer to work. Dorothy Panarella
Dorothy, you should start a new thread (POST) with your model number as subject. Then someone familiar with your Lexmark will see it.
POST link is at bottom of each forum page and the upper right corner of home page.
By the way, did you try the Lexmark support site to see if they had a downloadable manual for your product? Lexmark Link on home page here....scroll down.
Thank you for replying...the model # for the Lexmark x1150 that I have is 4476ko1, have the disc and user's guide but they are for the Lexmark x1100, serial #07300394169 is for Lexmark x1150, when I install it comes up Lexmark 1020 Jet printer. dorothy
What Rudy was try to say is you really need to start a new post, not continue on someone else's. You gave us the model number above and you were told to go to lexmark for the latest software. Lets make it real easy for you. Just click on the link below and this should take care of your problem. If it does not, do not respond to this thread, but start your own.
I have a Lexmark 1020 I have windows 98se and the PC sees the printer and says it is a Lexmark 1020 but their are no fonts. It says it has printed but the nothing works on the printer side. Please help Merle

Re: driver lexmark by Leland Okura (4/12/04 1:53 PM)
Sometime ago(about two months ago)I was having problems with my computer, so I took to my internet provider that also does repairs on computers. They diagnosed it that somehow the one of the late versions of windows had been only partially downloaded, thus it messed up the functioning of my original Windows 98. So I had to have the partially downloaded Windows program removed and have Windows 98 redownloaded. What we forgeot to do was also redownload my Lexmark X75 Trio Function printer program so both my computer and printer can be connected and be used together. I've missed place my CD for my Lexmark X75, so I emailed Lexmark for specific instructions. The problem is that I'm not fully computer literate so the instructions are like another language altogether for me. I'd appreciate any kind of advice that will enable me to get my printer going again. Thank you. Leland
Myra: Simply click on the following Lexmark Company link, choose your type of printer and then follow the instructions and prompts to download the correct driver for your Lexmark Printer and Operating System: support.lexmark.com ...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (5/12/04 12:14 PM)
Lexx: Printer Drivers for your "1020" should already be loaded on your Win's XP Operating System and you simply have to install them, to be able to use your printer. On your Desktop Page, simply click once on the START BUTTON, scroll up to SETTINGS and over to PRINTERS & FAXES and then click-on it. Under Printers& Faxes Utility, in top left corner area, click-on ADD A PRINTER. Click the word NEXT on the following three pages, until the box opens that says MANUFACTER on the feft side of the page. Scroll down to LEXMARK and click once on Lexmark to highlight it. Under PRINTERS, on right side of page, at the top should be two choices for your "1020" Printer: The "Lexmark 1020 Color Jet Printer" & the "Lexmark 1020 Color Jet Printer (Mono). Just click once [to highlight] which model applies to your particular printer. Down in lower right hand corner of the same page, click-on NEXT. Now simply read the info on each page, make your choices, follow the prompts [next] and install the PRE-LOADED PRINTER DRIVERS on your XP Operating System...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (7/7/04 4:16 PM)
Martin: I do not actually work on Lexmark Printers, but that SKEWING type problem is a fairly common problem on most makes of printers. It's possible that the paper may be running into a foreign object and not feeding in at all, or stalling or feeding crooked. Remove all the paper and use a flashlight to look carefully into the paper feed-in area. Look for a pen, pencil, push pin, paper clip, candy, etc. If you can't see anything, then actually pick your printer up and turn it so the paper opening is facing down and shake it a little, side to side. Your trying to dislodge anything that might be stuck in the paper entrance area. If nothing falls out, then turn it back over and use the flashlight to once again look inside that area. Sometimes you'll see an object that may have moved over into view while you were shaking the printer. Any foreign object might block the paper from actually being able to move forward, so then the printer thinks there is no paper installed. You may have to even remove the Top Cover to be able to get a better view of that paper feed area. Unfortunatly, just removing that cover is not always that easy, especially on a lot of the newer models of printers. You may need a Service Manual for reference, disassembly and troubleshooting. I have not checked, but you can normally find Service Manuals and or Service Adjustment Programs/Resets for most printers, at www.2manuals.com (most Service Manuals can usually be downloaded for around $10 /- ), or even from http://www.sm.copyprofi.net/index.htm [check prices of available Service Manuals]. Even if there is not a foreign object stuck in that area, with the top cover off, you might just possibly see what the problem is and even be able to correct it...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (7/8/04 11:20 AM)
Martha: I'm sorry, but I don't actually work on Lexmark Printers, so I'm not really framiliar with them. If you do not get any replies on your posting, then you may want to repost your printer question or problem separatly, on an individual message board. It's possible no one may actually help you because they did not read the board you attached your problem to, especially as that board was almost 6 months old. Also that origional message board, was about a Lexmark Printer Driver problem or question and actually has nothing to do with your printers problem. Sometimes we may just assume that your information was just a reply to that origional posting by the first person on that board and not even read your message. The best chance for help is when you open your own individual message board, listing your problem in as much detail as possible. Be sure to list your actual printer make and model in the subject line, as well as a brief description of your printers problem [example: "RE: Lexmark X74-75 cartridge holder problem"]. Your chances of having someone help you will normally be better. IT'S EASY TO POST YOUR OWN SEPARATE MESSAGE: Just go to the "fixyourownprinter.com" web-site and under MESSAGE BOARD, click-on PRINTER REPAIR FORUM. The first page will open up; scroll down to bottom of the page; in the bottom left corner is "click here to post a new message". Now you can post your printers problem or questions...Good Luck! Martha: the problem with your x75 is the ink cartridge is not setted right thats why the top keeps poping open and if that happens it will not print take the new cartridge out and put it back in and see if the top closes and stays closed i know there isn't much room but the top needs to be down and locked for the new cartridge to work right. Good luck...
Hi I bought a lexmark x1150 back in december, i tried installing it but everytime i attempted to install it on my laptop or my home & work pc's it gave an error message and said it could not communicate with printer or could not find a printer attached! I run XP pro on my laptop, Win 2000 & Win 98 on my PC's.
I tried everything! install drivers first then plug it in, plug it in and follow windows setup, plug it in and follow Cd ROMS setup instructions! but all methods did not work! So i sent it back and got a replacement! This replacement has exactly the same problems!
I have used my Lexmark X1150 as a fancy footrest for the last 6 months, but now feel it's time i tried to get it sorted once and for good!
Please Please could someone help, as i am about to throw the bl##dy thing through the window!!!

I purchased a lexmarkX1100 all-in-one in december, somehow the software was misplaced which made it impossible to add to my new computer. I tried downloading from your website and was unsuccessful to download. What can I do to download the software?
thank you mandy
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (7/15/04 12:24 PM)
Mandy: You can always go on-line to the Lexmark web-site and look under "Drivers & Downloads", at support.lexmark.com& . Normally most Printer Drivers can be download for free, directly from that Lexmark web-site. The only problem is that I saw no listing for an actual Lexmark X1100 All-In-One series printer. There is an X1110, X1140 & X1150 series, but I saw no X1100 listed. If your printer is actually a X1100 model and you cannot find it listed, then you might want to go to the Lexmark Customer Support Page, at support.lexmark.com= and actually e-mail Lexmark for possible help...Good Luck! I installed a new black cartridge in my Lexmark Z55 (82), the cover closed completely. However, now the black/color gadget is at the extreme right hand side, won't move and the machine won't print. Seems stuck on the right hand side. checking with my finger, both covers are down and not obstructed, it seems. Please help.
Re: driver lexmark by Anonymous (7/16/04 11:38 AM)
Anonymous: You can go on-line to the Lexmark web-site for "Drivers and Downloads", on the Z25 Color Jetprinter, at downloads.lexmark.com& . Simply read the info and make your choices to download new Printer Drivers for your printer...Its also possible that your Printer Driver may be already loaded onto your Windows XP Operating System. The XP Operating System comes with most Printer Drivers loaded and they just need to be installed. On your Computers Desktop, click-on START and scroll up to SETTINGS and over to PRINTERS & FAXES and click-on it. Under Printers & Faxes Utility, in top left corner area, click-on ADD A PRINTER. Click NEXT 3 times on the next 3 pages. Under MANUFACTOR, on left side of page, Highlight Lexmark by clicking on it once. Under PRINTERS, on right side of page, scroll down and look for your "Z25 Color Jetprinter" and click once to highlight it [if it is actually there]. Down in lower right corner of same page, click-on NEXT. Read the information, follow the prompts [usually "next"] and install the pre-loaded drivers for your printer, if they are actually there...Good Luck! Denny Conway
I have the same problems as Jason above ... PC and Printers will not communicate. However, mine is a bit different. I had a Lexmark Z12, it quit after a year. It would no longer communicate. So I bought the Z22. It was cheap. I've had it just a little over a year now and it no longer communicates. I bought a z25 for even less than I bought the z22 and it never bothered to communicate from day one. The people at Lexmark has been no help. I've done everything they've suggested before I even bothered to contact them. Any suggestions?

Switch brands. Maybe you should consider spending a few bucks and get out of the disposable printer category. Generally speaking, over $100 gets you a printer that lasts longer than 90 days. If you do light printing, stay away from Epson.

Re: driver lexmark by Anonymous (8/21/04 10:47 AM)
Anyone having trouble with their printer printing only blank pages:
Keep in mind that the Lexmark printers DO NOT have ink level sensors in the cartridges so they may tell you that you have ink left in the cartridge when you actually have none. The ink level you are shown is calculated based on how much you've printed--but this can be misleading, especially if you've removed and reinserted the cartridge and then chosen the wrong option ("This is a new cartridge") at the 'new ink cartridge detected' prompt.
I have bought a new laptop and have no software to install my Lexmark Z25 into my new Laptop. I have the lead and that's it. I have tried doing it through the options on the computer and can successfully install it but it just wont print test pages or anything and the troubleshoot can't sort it. The printer makes a noise as if its going to start when I click print, but then a plain piece of paper comes out!

I have a Lexmark X1150. The paper starts to feed through then veers off to the right, and gets stuck. Would mean a lot to a poor student without a printer if you could help.
Many thanks
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (2/15/05 5:25 PM)
shreeeesh: Although I do not actually work on Lexmark Printers, that paper feeding in crooked problem, or feeding in at an angle problem, is common to a lot of different makes of printers. It's possible that the paper may be running into a foreign object, which could cause the paper to stall, or even feed-in crooked and sometimes even stop the paper from feeding in at all. Remove all the paper and use a flashlight to look carefully into the paper feed-in area. Sometimes you may have to even remove the Top Cover, or do some other disassembly, just to be able to get a better view of that paper feed-in area. Unfortunatly, just removing that cover is not always that easy, especially on the newer makes of printers. You may actually need a Service Manual for reference in disassembly and troubleshooting. I have not checked on any particular makes or models, but here are some sources that you can check with for a possible service manual: You will have to check the following web-sites for availability [some may be able to order or locate Service manuals for you] and pricing: http://www.2manuals.com , http://www.manuals4you.com , http://www.sm.copyprofi.net/index.htm , http://www.servicemanuals.net/(qxdgvu55gnxp1r55phmu5d45)/default.aspx , http://www.docteurtech.com/CAN-Import/can-import.html , http://www.workshopmanuals.co.uk , or http://www.user-service-manuals.com/epson-service-manuals.htm...Good Luck! naheeda: I also do not see those drivers listed, on the Lexmark web-site. You can always try contacting Lexmark Company directly, for possible help, off their CONTACT US web-site, at http://www.lexmark.com. You can also try the Drivers Headquarters web-site, at http://www.drivershq.com/?af=google&bn=5&type=printer and see if they can supply the printer drivers you need for your "X1160"...Good Luck! i HAVE A LEXMARK ALL IN ONE PRINTER AND i INSTALLED IT, BUT THE DRIVERS WILL NOT INSTALL AND a MESSAGE COMES UP THAT SAYS THE SYSTEM FILE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR RUNNING MS DOS AND MICROSOFT WINDOWS APPLICATIONS
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (2/17/05 2:14 PM)
Angi: As that is actually a computer related software problem, or an actual printer driver installation problem, you may need to try and get help directly from the Lexmark Technical Support Department. If they cannot help you, then you will need to get help from a Computer Technician/Person, rather than a Printer Technician, on this printer repair site...Denny Conway
printing z605 & mac wallstreet by peter (2/18/05 11:14 PM)
If I print a Word (2001) document using the mac's file menu command, the system locks up and I have to restart; if I print from the Word toolbar—the printer icon—it works fine. The same thing happens with Appleworks: the file menu command "Print" locks up the system; from the Appleworks toolbar, it all works fine. I have no problems printing pix if I paste them into Appleworks as text documents. What? Why? How come? Any ideas?
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (2/21/05 9:55 AM)
Peter: It sounds like you have a computer related problem, or even a Word Software related problem, rather than an actual printer problem. I'm sorry, but we only work on the actual problems in the printer itself, with the printer cable, or printer driver related problems. You may need to get help from a Mac Computer Technician/Person, rather than a Printer Technician, on this printer repair site...Good Luck! Denny Conway
For the Lexmark X1100 series, try downloading the drivers for the X1110. I know it might sound funny, but it works. In fact, that's the exact driver. Period.
Before I connected my z605 to the USB port, I was using a stylewriter 2400 on the adb port. That worked just fine...could the problem be in the usb connection (it's a Belkin pc card in the slot on the Wallstreet.

Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (3/8/05 10:29 AM)
Bonnie: You can download printer drivers from the Lexmark "Z32 Color Jetprinter - Drivers and Downloads" web-site, located at http://downloads.lexmark.com. Simply read the information and make your choices, to download the correct drivers for your printer and your particular Operating System...Good Luck! Denny Conway
I bought a lexmark X125, everything works great except when I print up text part of the words are black and the bottom part of the words are red and the middle is blank, even if I try and print plain text it still prints half and half on it. I redownloaded drivers and that didn't work, never had this trouble before.
Hello gurus. Am trying to help fix my mother's printer over the phone, and am not getting anywhere. The problem is the printer will not print the body of text, or any text really. Let's say she tries to print out an email, it will print all the Hotmail related images, but no text, like the to/from, subject, and the body. And if she tries to print a Word .doc, it acts like it's printing but the page is blank. The cartridge is obviously not dry because it prints other stuff, just not text. The printer is the Lexmark z32 and she's running XP pro. I linked her to get the latest drivers from Lexmark, and walked her through installing them, and everything seems to be in order. It just won't print text. She also has Office installed, and in the printer folder is some MS Image writer? or something like that. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
hit and miss quality of my lexmark X75 by Anonymous (3/17/05 10:44 AM)
Hello, My Lexmark will print great one minute and hardly print at all the next. The bad minutes are getting more frequent. The on screen ink level monitor says it is full and they are fairly new so it should be right. The quality is very fuzzy and very light. Mostly is is hardly there at all... just enough to ruin a good sheet of paper or even worse expensive labels! Eeek! Anyone have any idea what's wrong? Thanks!
Re: driver lexmark 1020 working oddly by Suze (3/17/05 5:59 PM)
found my own solution, in printer setup there for installing cartridges, you have to choose if you have the smaller cartridge or the larger one, it fixed it right up.
Tried to install a Lexmark Z23 and then a Z25 on a WinXP Professional OS. Used updated drivers for each from Lexmark, installations were successful, and even installed a text allignment patch for SP 2 for the Z25. Still, neither printer will print black in any program, not even in the allignment or test prints, only color. The black cartridge was tested in another Lexmark and definitely prints. I uninstalled and reinstalled both drivers several times, still no black print. Any advice?
how is the test page and cleaning heads turn out? is it printing black on those? if so then it is a small adjustment in the settings. look in your printer setup try clicking on the default settings, if that does not work try some other ones.
Re: Re: driver lexmark by tsa1119 (4/3/05 11:45 AM)
No black black will print at all, not on the cleaning, test page, or allignment page. I tried the default setting too, still no black will print. That is the same result for both Lexmark printers, the Z23 and Z25.
i had the same problem as listed above, communication error. by replacing the black ink cartdridge i solved the error. it seems that by communicating to the printer it can also mean the cable to the ink cartdridge.
Re: Re: driver lexmark by Anonymous (4/4/05 7:16 AM)
I never got a communication error in either situation. I had the Z25 with the same black cartridge attached to a different computer and it printed with no problem at all. When I attached it to the current computer, no black, which was the same as the Z23.
okay, lets check all of the settings, go into control panel, go to printer folder, right click on the printer and bring up the properties you should see 6 tabs. on general tab. be sure the lexmark Z55 or whice ever printer you have is listed, the location and comment is blank. click on printing preferences and click on print style, click Normal sharing tab: mark NOT SHARED. Ports USBO port, it that port is not listed then click on the add port and add the USB to it. on bottom mark Enable bidrectional support. Advanced tab: mark: always available, priority 1, driver: lexmark Z55 Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster. Start printing, and Enable advanced printing features color management tab: automatic. Security tab. on bottom it has print, manage printers, manage documents, check allow on all. print a test page.

Lexmark X125 Printer by Joe Williamson (4/9/05 11:25 AM)
Lexmark X125: Display says "change black ink cartridge apr/09/05". I put a new cartridge in and the same message appeared. Thinking the cartridge might be defective, I bought another one, put in and the same message appeared. Maybe the head needs cleaning? I can't find directions for doing this. The unit prints ok, but maybe it's printing black from the color cartridge. I've had this printer since this past December, and no other problems. Please help.
MY PRINTER WORKS GREAT BUT MY COMPUTER CRASHED YESTERDAY AND NOW THE PRINTER SAYS NO VALID INF FILE FOUND WHEN I TRY TO REINSTALL THE PRINTER.......CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP......I HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE BACK UP AND WORKING.....I HAVE TRIED DOWNLOADING FROM THE LEXMARK WEBSITE BUT IT STILL SAYS NO VALID INF FILE FOUND....ANY HELP WOULD BE SO GREATLY APPRECIATED.......THANKS
Re:drivers for lexmark75 by Temp (4/14/05 9:41 AM)
Temp: I'm assuming that you need the printer drivers for a "Lexmark X75 Prin Trio, All-In-One Printer". If so, then go to the Lexmark web-site titled "Lexmark X75 PrinTrio - Drivers and Downloads", located at http://downloads.lexmark.com . Then simply read the info and make your choices, to download the drivers for your computers operating system. If your printer model is actually different, then go to the Lexmark web-site titled "Drivers and Downloads - Make your Selection", located at http://support.lexmark.com and try to locate your particular model...Good Luck! Re: Re: driver lexmark by Anonymous (4/20/05 8:56 PM)
Change the cartridge. Since you already did this, just open and close the doors. Then use the options keys until New Right appears. Select this with Start. The manual says this resets the monitoring system. It cleared the message on my printer.
Wow.. are we having fun yet? lol, here's what's going on in my comp right now. I have a Lexmark Z65, and i run it off comp #1 with Win XP pro SP2 through my network with my Dlink DI-604 router, and accessing it on comp #2 with Win XP pro SP2 is no problem, it's getting it to print, cause it keeps stopping my spooler service, and i keep starting it again and it keeps stopping it. the Microsoft site had no help for it. and neither has anything else i've read. so if you guys could help me with this, i would greatly appreciate it.
Anonymous, posting "program my printer": Sorry, but thats not enough information to even be able to help you. You did not even tell us what model of Lexmark Printer you actually had. As you posted under the subject of "Re: driver lexmark", I'm guessing that you mean you need to get the correct printer drivers for your lexmark printer. If thats not what you mean, then when you repost with your actual model of printer, then let us know what you mean by "program my printer". If you simply need the printer drivers, then you can download them directly from the Lexmark "Drivers and Download" web-site, located at http://support.lexmark.com . Simply go to that site and locate your particular printer model, under the choices given and then click-on your model of lexmark printer. Then simply read the information and make your choices, to download the printer drivers for your particular printer model and your computers operating system...Good Luck! Denny Conway
Okay here is the deal. I was given a Lexmark X75 to me by my mom, but she is totally disorganized and seemed to have lost the installation disc. The first thing I did was go to lexmark's site and download what I needed, but It didn't work. I would go to download it and then after it finishes downloading, the page it would try to go to would be one of those error pages. I try refreshing it, but it doesn't help. So I went into my C Drive and went into downloads to see if it was there. Then I tried unzipping it and it says it cannot download. Where can I download what I need, for free if possible, for the Lexmark X75?
I HAVE A OLD COMPUTER AND THE CD DRIVE DON'T WORK SO I'M HAVING TROUBLE ADDING MY PRINTER TO THE SYSTEM IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN INSTALL IT WITHOUT THE CD?

Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (5/10/05 5:02 PM)
Liz: You did not actually tell us what the model of your Lexmark Printer was. So unfortunatly, I could not check and see if it was actually available to download from the Lexmark web-site, or not. You will simply have to go on-line to the Lexmark web-site for DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS, at http://support.lexmark.com and check for yourself. If that driver is available, then simply read all the information and make your choices, to download that free printer driver, for your model of printer and your computers operating system...Good Luck! I am having the same problem. I got the X4250 on sale, and thought I was getting a deal. I have spent the past week trying to find out how to get it to work. Another day or 2 and it goes back.. If anyone has any suggestions, please append them here. Thanks.
Please Help! As I seem to be lost. I down loaded The CJNTZ32.Exe. Files for Windows98se.After Unzipping the self exe files. I get a message" There are no valid INF files for this operation system unable to continue installation ". As I'm a novice to computers, I dont understand as to what is happening and the printer is not working. Its a Lexmark Z22. Can you please help me in making the printer operational. I Thank you very much for your help! Zygmunt.
Re: driver lexmark by Denny Conway (5/12/05 5:21 PM)
Zyqmunt: I'm sorry, but I am not trained on Lexmark Printers and do not actually work on them. However, it actually sounds like your problem is in your computer system, rather than in your actual printer. Especially as you are having problems with INF Files and having to try and unzip and install EXE Files, which are actually part of the software thats loaded onto your computer system. In that case, you may need to get help from a computer technician/person, rather than an actual printer technician, on this Printer Repair Site. Generally speaking, we work on the actual printer problems, printer cable problems and printer driver related problems, but not on the actual computer system related problems, on this fixyourownprinter repair site. I'm sorry that I cannot actually help you, But I do hope someone else reads your posted message, that may be able to help you further...At this point, all I can recommend is that you actually try downloading new printer drivers from the Lexmark web-site and see if that helps or not. You can view the "Z22 Color Jetprinter - Drivers and Downloads" web-site at http://downloads.lexmark.com . Simply delete and remove your printer with its old drivers first. Then read all the info and make your choices to download the printer drivers for your particular model and your computers operating system. If that does not actually help, then you may need to seek help elsewhere for what appears to be an actual computer system related problem...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Hi, I have downloaded the new drivers from lexmark, but the install wizard says it cant install DOS based files?? The download clearly stated it was suitable for WinXP. The problem I have is that the "All in one centre" simply wont open.. it sticks in the search mode..

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what the problem is with my printer. I have a Lexmark Z23 and when I try to print something all it does is runs the paper half way stops for about 2 to 3 seconds then it runs the paper through to the paper tray but never prints anything. Now is has printed before but now I have a new computer and I'm not sure of what to do. If anyone has any advice please e-mail me.
My Lexmark Z22 will print everything except from Microsoft Windows. I have had this printer for awhile, and have not had any problems. It will print a test page, but not anything from Microsoft Works at all.

Re: Printer Problem Please Read! by digitrics (7/4/05 11:44 AM)
You know what.... this is due to the hardware defect of your printer ... which in normal cases can be solved...when you tried installing through driver it said cannot printer just because the printer was not ready ... it is having some problem that should be fixed first..as u told the lights on the printer are blinking check out these things
step 1. disconnect the power cable and connect it back after 30 seconds..
2. take both the carts and do the step 1 and chk whether the lights are still blinking...
3. if the lights are not blinking this time try putting in one cart at a time... and do step 1..
4. by doing it with one cart at a time u can figure out which cart is causing the trouble..
5. if still the lights are blinking after you have done step 3.. chk whether there is any paper jam
6. if there is no paper jam and if u find that there is no problem with the carts then your lexmark printer need to be replaced... this is the final word you can trust.. / Yahoo Id : digitrics

This thread covers Lexmark driver issues, and I'm not even sure you have a Lexmark printer.
Please start a new thread, and follow the posting rules.
With the small amount of information you have given there are too many variables, some printers have print heads built in to the cartridges, some do not.

Yeah, I just bought my printer from Walmart today... and it didn't come with the software. I downloaded the Driver for Windows XP but the SETUP program won't work!!!
So, what do I do to get this Printer to work?

I have a Lexmark Z605 which works fine on my Dell Windows XP. I now want to share the printer on my network at home. When I select 'sharing' on the printer, it tells me I should add a driver for Windows 98 SE (as the other PC that wants to share this priner is Win 98 SE. I go to the site to down load the Windows 98 SE driver and -- when I execute the installation -- the installation program (English\lxbcstph.exe) gives and error saying 'no valid INF'. Tried mutliple times. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a Lexmark Z22 and have read through the threads. I can't find anyone with a similar problem. I previously had a CPU with Win 98 and the printer worked perfect. That CPU blew out the motherboard so I had a new one built with Win XP and the printer is not responding at all. It show to be online, I have gone through all troubleshooting, and even contacted Lexmark. The only time ink comes out is when I clean the nozzles and then it is only red. I don't get the black ink at all, and can't print documents. Can anyone give advice
Throw it away! No, serious, I am not sure if it is worth bothering with a Z22! If you have the latest XP driver installed for your printer & it is still not working... I expect the cartridges for this are more expensive than buying a new printer! I rest my case, as sad as it may seem! As a final resort, I would uninstall the current driver, download the XP driver from the Lexmark site & see how that goes. If you are still having probs, get down to a local PC shop & get a new printer!?! Hope this isn't depressing news & hope you sort it out! Dazz UK

I recently got a new computer and i have lost the disc for installing my Lexmark 4200 series. I can now not use my Printer/fax/copier/scanner. please help me.
I had the same problem with my Lexmark Optra R 4049 12r. The windows XP drivers werent working (at least I thought it was the drivers). I changed some things in the printer settings like the PCL emulation I switched to 2 instead of 5 and some other things that I'm not sure were for but I just matched everything to a working Optra R and then I used the windows xp drivers(postscript worked as well as the pcl driver)and it worked fine.

Hey, I have the same problem. Mom's printer tells me I have full color ink when it is obviously empty. I cleaned the heads with the PC and by hand, and I still have the problem. The black ink is OK. I'm guessing that there is some problem in the cartridge itself; anyone know how to reset the ink counters? lex. X75 user\unofficial repairman of the house

I have a Lexmark x125 printer. I have had it for about 3 years but I have not used it in about 1 1/2 years due to a printing problem. The problem is that whenever I print out a document the printer prints one or two lines regular print and then one line bold print. I have checked the settings time and time again and it is not on bold. I have not been able to fix this problem and I was hoping someone else out there could help me. I was thinking about just chunking it and getting a new one but why should I when this one is practically brand new. At the time I bought the printer I was using windows millenium systems since then I have had hard drive erased and now it runs with windows xp.

Have Lexmark 83. Ink cartridges stay on right of printer; have restarted and closed printer and still have the problem. It acts like it wants to print by making noises like it will, but nothing happens. Please help soon. I have assignments due. Thanks a bunch.

Hi Your problem sounds like one i encountered a few years back. Mine was caused by a virus. Are you running anti virus software? and are you keeping it updated? Try doing a full system scan.

I can not fax with my Lexmark X73. I am using Windows XP and when I try to fax the "Wizard" panel opens, all seems normal when I enter details, I get to final page and press "Send", the message comes back "Fax not sent". Modem seems fine, have tried re-installing, re-setting fax etc. but to no avail. Can anyone suggest a remedy?
Re: Re: driver lexmark by Anonymous (3/31/06 6:33 AM)
lol, some of these problems are hilarious... i came looking for help, found it but continued to be baffled at the people not reading this thread or just posting "I want driver" (though this HAS to be an obvious punch at the previous posts of misinformation.) gg all.
Hey, I also had a problem with paper feeding in crooked. Found a few different suggestions online, none of which sounded right - like replacing the roller, using heavier paper, keeping the feeder full, turning the paper over, not using cartridge refills(?), etc. Denny's suggestion sounded too simple but (getting desperate) I unplugged the printer, turned it upside down and shook it around a bit, flipped it back over and, yep, there was a pen visible inside. Pen removed, and everything is working again. Many thanks Denny. Mark
Love my Lexmark x125, Just recently started printing yellow backround on all forms behind every thing. The black ink runs a line every 1/2 inch horizontal all the way down the page. I have never had any problems before. I have changed all the ink and ran a maintenance check. Help!

I have a LexMark x74 Printer/Scanner but the driver it shows is 1020. Before i upgaded to XP from Millenium, it couldn't detect prnter at all. I've now upgraded to XP and my computer detects the printer but cannot print. in the print dialogue box it shows that printing is in action and yet it's not printing and after about 10seconds, it says print error. What could be the problem and how can i solve it? Thanks.
Re: Re: driver lexmark by james.wsc (8/12/06 6:50 AM)
Have you tried to download a new driver from lexmark? also try turning off windows xp firewall, the xp firewall gives me problems all the time. If you have, and you are then still having this problem try changing the print spool to winprint and see if that helps. ( http://support.lexmark.com )

Obrigado.
