 | epson 1520 & 800 printhead swap by Tom (1/15/04 8:07 PM) reply | + / - | I wish to swap out the printheads from my epson 800 to my epson 1520 printer.
These are the only Epson printers I know of that use seperate black and color printheads. All other Epsons seem to intergrate these into a single printhead block.
I have seen that a eprom code needs to be inputed for the voltage of each printheas as they are not the same within production limits?
Any ideas how I can swap out these printheads

You would need to try and locate a Service Manual that you could buy and possibly download for the "1520", for any needed Printhead Factory type settings and adjustments...HERE'S SOME INFORMATION POSTED FROM OTHER PEOPLE, THAT MAY HELP YOU TRY TO LOCATE A SERVICE MANUAL: Master 10/05/2002 03:22:56 Re: Epson stylus adjustment programs. You can find any service manual or service adjustment program for EPSON inkjet printers at www.otd.com.ua. ...OR... Eva 2/14/2003 23:31:11 Re: Epson Color Stylus Error Codes. See http://www.2MANUALS.COM - they have all service manuals and service programs. Due to them I fixed the same error on me C20! They are friendly!...Good Luck! Denny Conway

 | Re: epson 1520 & 800 printhead swap by tom (2/2/04 9:13 PM) reply | + / - | I have the owner's manula for the 1520 printer. Epcon does not tell the owner the printhead voltage as they do not what to reduce the number of printers they sell.
The 800 printheads were a perfect fit for the 1520 printheads.
I do have the voltage of the new 800 printheads. I need to have the program to program this into the printer.
thanks I WILL TRY SOURCES POSTED

 | Re: epson 1520 & 800 printhead swap by Wes (2/2/04 9:52 PM) reply | + / - | The print head voltage is written on the side of the print head. (the actual print head assembly not the carriage assenbly) So once you have the voltage value all you need is the service program to write the new head voltage to the main board.
Each print head has it's own value so if the voltage is not correct it will not print properly.
You can download the service program and a section of the service manual from here http://www.epsonhelp.web1000.com/temp.html

 | Re: epson 1520 & 800 printhead swap follw up by Tom (2/29/04 6:57 PM) reply | + / - | I found a great web page that has all you need to know about most Epson service programs they are free
For target=_blank>http://www.epson.co.uk/repair/programs/
For some reason the only 1520 service program I could get to work was the 1520/3000 selection the download file was SCS31E.zip
So far I still seem to have problems getting the right data put it in I wish there was a few pages written about the input?
These program are very poweful and once you get the hang of them you should be able to reset just about anything that can be reset!
