 | Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Donal (1/14/04 11:04 AM) | -1 + / - | This is the subject of a (now archived) message thread on FYOP about 3 years ago. If I had known about the 'problem' then, I would not have bought the printer. The printer dumps waste ink from head cleaning operations into an absorbent felt-and-paper pad on the floor of the plastic casing. N.B.: There is no electronic sensor in the pad! Nonetheless, after three years of use, the printer flashes 6 orange and 1 green led in a repeated cycle and refuses to respond to Windows (or anything else over the parallel interface). The manual identifies this as 'waste ink tank full' and says the condition requires servicing by a 'qualified Canon engineer'. How does the printer know that the ink tank is full? I guess it doesn't - it just knows when 3 years have elapsed - this is a built-in Canon-designed time-bomb that screws up an otherwise good printer. I have done the messy cleaning of the old pad and drip-well and then tried to reboot the printer - no go, error condition persists! Clearly a procedure exists for resetting the printer RAM but this is not in the manual. I have contacted Canon UK but they refuse to divulge the reset procedure and insist on 'return to base' for their own 'engineers' to do the reset (for, of course, a fee!). This is sharp practice and deserves the scorn of the internet community. I'll just buy a new printer and you can be sure it won't be a Canon. Fellow-users beware - don't buy a Canon unless you want to shell out every few years to correct an inbuilt timed fault! On the off-chance: anybody out there know how to reset a Canon printer (the procedure by Mark on the archived message thread is a little vague but my interpretation of it didn't work)?

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Wes (1/14/04 12:53 PM) | +3 + / - | Here is the reset process. You need to carefully follow the steps for it to work. Not to defend Canon but without the waste ink counter you will at some point end up with ink leaking from the printer.
Waste Error Reset 1: Power off printer 2: Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once. 3: Hold POWER and release RESUME 4: Press RESUME twice 5: When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange. 6: Press Power to set data
I hope this helps.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Wem (1/24/04 6:00 AM) | + / - | I got damn mad with my BJC 3000 and BJC 400 printer heads. Its black ink cartridge would not work after replacement although others does. To solve this problem, just replace the print head. Its over killing by doing so often..rediculous. Many friends of mine shared the same problem. Anyone can help?

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Wes (1/24/04 10:58 AM) | +3 + / - | Patty, Here is the reset for the BJC 2100.
Waste Error Reset 1: Remove the Cartridge 2: Unplug the AC Power Cord 3: Close Front access panel 3: Hold down the RESUME/RESET button and plug in the AC power cord 4: Release RESUME/RESET after plugging in the AC Power cord. 5: Press the RESUME/RESET once within 5 seconds and release the RESUME/RESET . 6: Press and HOLD RESUME/RESET for two seconds or more and release it. 7: Press and HOLD RESUME/RESET for two seconds or more and release it. 8: Unplug AC Power Cord to set data
If you need nore info try here http://canonhelp.sharewith.us
Wem, Try soaking the print head in a shallow dish/plate of hot distilled water to remove any dried out ink. You may need to repeat the process a few times to fully unclog the print head.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Patty (2/22/04 4:39 PM) | + / - | Wes. Thanks for the reset procedure you posted on 1-24 but I have a problem. I can't remove the cartridge. It is locked up on one side of the printer and I don't know how to get it back to the middle. I can't get the printer to do anything. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in but its like there is no power to it. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks for your help.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Jonathan (2/22/04 8:55 PM) | + / - | Thanks Wes - but I reckon I might have another problem! I can't get any beeps at all from my printer, only flashing orange lights (5 of them, then green again over and over) so it might be a different problem????
|
 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Wes (2/22/04 9:17 PM) | + / - | Patty, It could be a fuse or switch in your printer may be bad but maybe the power supply has failed. Did you try the printer on a different outlet.
Jonathan, From what my info says 5 Orange lights = Re-install the ink cartridge or replace the ink cartridge. 8 Orange lights = Waste ink tank full.
For more info on the error lights try this link http://www.canonhelp.sharewith.us Note: Some people have had problems accessing this link.
I hope this helps.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Cyberick (3/2/04 3:16 PM) | + / - | I reckon everyone bought their printer way back 2001. I've occasionaly used mine since then (it was a nice color printer at that time ) and right now , i've also encountered the same problem as you guys. Tried a lot of workarounds like replacing the printer cable , the s'ware driver , replacing all the ink cartridges and formatting my own PC before i ended up in this message board.
I've tried the reset procedure and cleaning of the printer head but again it did not fix the issue. (note: no beeps can be heard from my printer as well ).I've contacted the certified repair center --and for a little more cash -- the repair can cost as much getting a new printer itself... geeez!
i might as well buy a new one. it aint gonna be a canon printer with its proprietary built-in time bomb.... as the song goes " ..some good things never last"

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by grsmithau (3/5/04 7:37 PM) | + / - | I thought this problem was related to cleaning cycles, not time based? I recall 50 cleaning cycles? The trick to removing the "Waste Ink Full" error is to release the power button in between the double click, and the triple click. This is skipped in some of the instructions. FWIW: The printer brought in to me didn't beep at all. I think the beeper must have been worn out by beeping 10x while the client kept powering it up and down. It wouldn't park the heads and the purge mechanism appeared jammed. Works like new now! Thanks to all who posted the instructions. Cheers from Oz.

The ink tank is over to the left and won't budge - Having read the postings here I will never buy a Canon printer again - typical big business - do the poor punters who buy there product and make them buy a new model - Do they think we are mad enough to buy another lemon?

But on the 7100 5 beeps is a cartridge error BC-60 Cartridge must be in the left holder and BC-61/62e must be in right holder.Remove the BJ Cartridge, check that the contacts are clean and the white tape was removed.Try a new BJ Cartridge (not the BCI ink cartridge). | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by dr_gudden (3/29/04 7:41 AM) | + / - | Hi Wes! Thank you very much for the trouble shooting on fixyourownprinter.com. After having spoken to the Canon Help Desk I found out this morning that I might as well buy a new printer because the repair costs would get me an even better printer than the Canon BJC 3000 I purchased about 4 years ago! This is a joke because as to this moment your fix works and it is a reliable printer so far! Where these sales politics come from (better buy something new than having fixed the old, because its cheaper!) we all know: GREED. Well, I do not want to annoy you, but I'm glad you shared your knowledge on the forum. By the way, is there any recommendation from your side, how to clean or change the waste ink tank!? Best wishes from Holland, Steff

In response to Steff's request for a guide on how to do the actual cleaning after resetting, I have posted an article on my web site at: http://mysite.freeserve.com/Donal_Hurley/CanonBJC.html I hope that this will be of use to those of you out there still keen to continue using your Canon printer. As I explain in my article, I have reverted my brand allegiance to HP.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Alastair (4/22/04 2:26 AM) | +1 + / - | Most helpful thread. I have followed some of these bits and pieces, and especially Donal's pages. Doing so, I have managed to reset my S9000, and it seems to be working fine again. I had to go through the procedure a couple of times (and doing so did not make it stop working altogether). I hadn't realised that Canon had this ruse built into the longevity of these machines - but I gather that each of the companies has something they do to make us keep coming back. A friend who is a journalist on a computer magazine, invited on an information tour for one inkjet printer manufacturer (not Canon this time), realised one of the procedures they were using was against consumer interest. A few questions later, and the tour ended rather abruptly, and he was escorted out, and effectively 'blacklisted' by that company...

My method is 1 Unassemble the Printer , Has locking Tabs & 1 Screw. 2 Remove the Mechanism. 3. Remove the Power supply & the connector 4. Place the Base in a sink & remove the Pads 5. Wash the Base in Running Water .then Dry thoroughly. 6 Sqeeze wash the 2 pads in running warm water.until no Ink runs out. 7 Sqeeze dry all the excess water from the Pads & leave to Dry overnite. 8. reassemble the printer & Run through the Reset as in Wes's Post.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 turns into a montser by Danny (5/9/04 3:22 AM) | + / - | This is a great Message board with terrific Threads Guys!! especialy the "waste ink tank full problem".......... My problem is of a different nature. The problem is a BJC-3000 that has a mind of its own. Sometimes it prints out a document perfect and other times (most of the time) it prints only one third of the document on the first A4 sheet and then another third on the next sheet and the same on the next and the next until it finishes printing the whole document out onto 4 to 5 sheets with only a third of the document on each. Any help would be much appreciated for this frustrated tech and owner of a Canon monster. Regards Danny

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 monstermania by Donal (5/9/04 3:26 PM) | + / - | This one's for Danny. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt! I was lucky. I found that by first purging the print queue, then powering off both printer and computer and rebooting both from lights out, the problem disappeared. But, if not, remove printer from system (completely!) then reinstall the printer driver from scratch with all the valid defaults (like A4 page size, etc.). Despite my previous fulminations, I must admit that Canon's are not the only printer drivers to exhibit this bug.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Rupert (5/11/04 5:05 PM) | + / - | Hi Guys, THE ERROR CODE INDICATED IS NOT THE WASTE INK TANK!!!!! The waste ink tank error message is indicated by 6 ALTERNATE flashes of Green/Orange. ie green, orange, green, orange, green, orange, green, orange, green, orange, green, orange. The error message described in the original post is a printhead problem. It was described as flashing 6 orange and one green. ie green, orange, orange, orange, orange, orange, orange The BC-33e printheads are consumables and need to be replaced after a few years. The waste ink amount is based on dot counting. It will indicate that it is full after a certain amount of printing has been done. This is generally after 10's of thousands of pages have been through the printer and as such is only rarely triggered by your average user. I would say that most people that supposedly have this "waste ink tank full" error, just need to replace the printhead, and have been resetting the eeprom needlessly. This would explain why a lot of people still have no joy even after reseting the eeprom. It is shame that one persons inaccurate and inflammatory post has steered so many people in the wrong direction. And you wonder why the engineers don't want that info in the public domain. BJC-3000 error codes are as follows: User Recoverable The indicator blinks in orange the number of times for that type of error, then it blinks in green. This pattern is repeated. Indicator Blinks 2 Paper feed error 3 Paper jam error 4 Ink out error 5 Mis-installed cartridge 6 No cartridge 7 Cartridge error 8 Waste ink warning The indicator blinks alterately in orange and in green the the number of times for that error (orange and green blinking alternately), then it blinks long in green. This pattern is repeated. [Unrecoverable by Users] Error Condition Indicator Blinks ROM error 1 time in orange/green RAM error 2 times in orange/green EEPROM error 3 times in orange/green Home position error 4 times in orange/green Temperature sensor error 5 times in orange/green Waste ink full error 6 times in orange/green Temperature error 7 times in orange/green Head temp sensor error 8 times in orange/green Cartridge displaced error 9 times in orange/green ASF sensor error 10 times in orange/green

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Farafox (5/20/04 10:19 AM) | + / - | I didn't have the waste ink tank full error i had the print head error. My fix to this problem was a hammer and the ground. I hate canon printers. This was a friends printer and she said that i could do whatever I wanted to it so I did. Then, I went to Ebay and bought her a HP all in one system that works great and you don't have to pay to speak to their tech support and most problems if any you can fix on your own. Good luck to all of you who insist on keeping your canon printers.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Danny (5/20/04 5:48 PM) | + / - | Thanks Donal, Well after purging the print queue etc and rebooting I still had a problem. It did fix it for a short time, but the next day the BJC3000 Monster came back to haunt me again. Anyway the good news is that I have now fix the problem and finally cast that demon into the unknown. First I again removed all the printer drivers and then downloaded a later printer driver (ver6.83) from the net, I also found a problem with the print spool settings. So I changed the print spooling settings to "print directly to printer" this apparently fixed the main problem. The battle has been won - AT LAST!!!! Thanks Regards Danny

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Donal (5/21/04 8:32 AM) | + / - | This reply posting is prompted by some of Rupert's critical remarks, which mar his otherwise informative posting. Before responding to these, I must thank him for the complete list of LED flash codes. This will prove helpful to anyone facing problems with this printer model. Now to respond to the "inflammatory" and "inaccurate" claims contained in Rupert's posting. Firstly, it will be clear to anyone reading this message thread that there are many Canon customers out there who have faced difficulties with this and other printer models, and many are not pleased about it. It is a matter of record that Canon charges a minimum of Ł70 for looking at a faulty printer, and that they will not release the EPROM reset codes into the public domain. At Ł70 a pop, we don't at all wonder why they won't release this information into the public domain. It is this behaviour on the part of Canon that is riling their customers, who were angry before my posting. Indeed, as some have succeeded in fixing the problem, fewer are angry after my posting than before. Therefore, the claim that my, or any other, posting on this thread is "inflammatory" is easily refuted. The purpose of sites such as this one is to compensate for the inadequacy of the customer services and support available from companies such as Canon by pooling the knowledge of the Web Community of users. Whilst this activity is not helped by namecalling, it will neither be curtailed by namecalling. Secondly, it may well be that the initial diagnosis on my part was "inaccurate", just as any or all of the postings including Rupert's own may not solve the particular problem posed at the outset (waste ink tank full). My starting points were (a) pages 68/69 of the User's Guide and (b) a phone call to Canon Service UK, both of which confirmed my diagnosis. More specifically, the Guide has a list of LED flash codes less complete than Rupert's excellent list; whilst according to Canon the flash pattern described was indeed the waste ink tank full. BUT: This is irrelevant, as now the information needed for a variety of problems with Canon printers is in the public domain where it should be, and whether the Ł70 buys you an EPROM reset or a follow-up bill for a new head, you'll still not be a happy camper, will you?

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Rupert (5/24/04 10:05 PM) | + / - | Hi Donal, Fair enough. I agree that the service fee is far more than the printer is worth. In fact I replaced the whole printer when the printhead failed. And I agree I was being a smart prick but I was a bit annoyed at going down the waste ink full road needlessly. Also I find your concept of a "built in time bomb" strange as manufactures are supposedly meant to make money on the ink not the printers aren't they? P.S. Page 68/69 of my Users Guide has two sections. 1 section titled "The power lamp flashes in orange" which is followed by the descriptions in my origial post (not the service errors though) and another section titled "The POWER lamp flashes Orange and Green alternately" and is followed by "Cause: There may be a service error. Contact Canon etc." I should have looked here first I guess.

Canon, if you happen to read any info on your products, this is something that really PO consumers. Of course when I called canon they had said yes you need to have it serviced. For the price the service company was charging I can just as easily buy a new printer knowing that it will not be a canon.....Of course the canon rep said we have a returning customer policy if you purchased another Canon through them I get a large discount of 10% of course that savings would be small compared to the price they charge. Just go to Target or Wal-mart and save even more money. Canon you suck!!! Saint

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 paperfeed problem by Nigel (6/10/04 7:32 PM) | + / - | Hi Gang ...Help!! I seem to have a problem with paper feeding correctly. The paper picks up travels about an inch into the printer and stops, the printer then prints, but not onto the paper. Once the printer has finished printing onto nothing, I get a paper jam message. I also get 4 orange blinks, but there is no problem with the ink out, as it is a new cartridge. I have tried various combinations of paper stacking and feeding, including singly and nothing seems to work. I have checked the manual, the help area on the CD, and the internal help on the program and not sure what to do next. I haven't had the waste ink full message yet, but I have ink on the on the floor of the plastic casing that I haven't noticed before. I guess this is deposited as it prints without the paper fully moving though the printer. I've had the printer for about 3 years with no problems so far. Any assistance anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Regards Nigel - Land of OZ

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by CAG (6/12/04 12:56 AM) | + / - | Hi Folks, Helpful info for me. I have followed Donal's link (3 Apr, 04), and it has worked. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I did it quite slowly, i.e. while reading each bit of the instruction. BTW, I don't where "beeps" come from in any instructions, because mine never has. And can I be picky about definitions? The reason why I interpreted the six orange flashes as ink tank full is that it is only the orange that flashes, the green doesn't (it stays illuminated after the orange flash, but I don't call that flashing). Phew, maybe I am reading too much into this. Anyway, I have success. One last point, I did first of all wash the pad and felt. Horrible job. And guess what? They both shrunk. Fortuneately not enough to cause a problem. And where do I buy new ones? Can't find them listed anywhere. The behaviour of Canon in creating this difficulty is appalling. They should be hung by the Cherokees.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Ali B (7/20/04 2:04 AM) | + / - | it worked !!! my bjc 3000 is now reset. could it be that others have failed because the printer was 'waste full'. I applied the procedure at "waste almost full" stage i used the procedure from here http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/Donal_Hurley/CanonBJC.html Step 1: Start with POWER OFF. Hold down the RESUME button. Press and hold the POWER button. The indicator should light GREEN unblinking. Step 2: Without releasing the POWER button, release RESUME, then double-click (press and release twice) RESUME. Finally release POWER. Each click of RESUME should cause the indicator to change (first to ORANGE, then back to GREEN). If the reset is going to work, upon release of the POWER button, the GREEN will blink while the printer goes through its irritating noisy start-up routine of making all the moving parts whirr and grumble (though not, I insist, beep!) and then settle down to unblinking green (I have never achieved this happy status). Step 3: Press the resume button either three times (according to Wes) or six times (according to Mark's Pidgin it would take 3 double-clicks to get 3 orange lights - hey, I'm just a mathematician trying to make sense of it all!) Step 4: Press POWER OFF. Apparently this both stores the reset and powers off the printer. When you power on again all should be well! there were no beeps and 3 resumes worked in step3 thanks wes and donal

Now I come with (what else?) a question... got a Canon i250,turned on the printer it's going thru the startup routine then ... the led is blinking 7 time orange one time green (for about 2 secz).. and so on. I suspect it's the printhead but i wanna be sure ...cuz a new printhead it's a lotta money and I think better buy a new printer. Thanks,

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by JACK (8/14/04 3:40 PM) | + / - | hey everybody.had the same problem with my canon bjc 300 after 3 years of great service.so i took it apart and really cleaned the waste tank felt pad at the bottom of the printer.it was saturated with ink! This is a dirty job beware!there's gotta be a better way to do this.Canon never gave any warning of this.(i guess they don't want us "layman"doing stuff that the technicians get big bucks for.fortunately i am mechanically inclined!) so after reassembly,i put in the proper code and bingo NOTHING HAPPENED!so i tried it again for another 10 or 15 tries.same thing nada.i kept getting the 7 orange flashes followed by 1 green one.i went back into the messege board, and saw that 6 orange flashes was waste disposal and since i had 7 orange flashes that meant the inkjet printhead cartridge was bad!who woulda thought?i then went on e-bay and found the same exact one for $8.99.so i ordered it and it came in 2 days.i figure i might as well try it since it was about the same price as a black ink refill.well i took out the old one put the 4 ink cartridges into the new print head cartridge, put the unit in the machine, closed the door and hit the switch!(hoping of course those infuriating 7 orange flashes would disappear)........YES!!!!! success! it made the old familiar start up noises and then stopped.the green light came on and stayed on,and the printer works fine now.i felt kinda proud.so if anyone out there has similiar problems don't give up!all those flashing orange lights mean something,ya just gotta find out what it is.and now i don't fear the ink waste disposal warning since i cleaned that too!(at least for another 3 years!)so my sincere thanks to everyone who wrote in to this message board.without the info i would not have had the werewithal to try it!i hope i can help the next guy(or gal!)good luck! Jack

 | Canon BJC3000 - 7 orange flashing, then green on? by Vintage Inspirations (3/22/05 8:10 PM) | + / - | I have a BJC3000 with the same problem as the previous message. I took out an ink tank to check level as it started printing blank pages (oxymoron!). Then it flashed orange 7 times then green stayed on.
I've tried all the suggestions above, press this,do that - no luck so far. Canon told me to take it to a service centre as it's a temperature error. I decided to check the internet and found this site.
Has anyone any further ideas on this?

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by eoj (3/30/05 2:23 PM) | + / - | My Canon i560 has the same problem. It's a year and a half old and works fine, but the green flashing indicater says the waste tank is full.
I was told by an authorized servicer that the cost of repair would be about $125.00. Canon offered me a special discount (unspecified amount)if I would purchase a new printer from them within 14 days!!!!!!!!!
I contacted Canon and requested some information that would guide me in disassembling the printer to the point I could get access to the tank and was told that I would have to get that information from the authorized servicing company. No chance of that happening per the company. If you get any additional leads on how to perform this mysterious process I would be extremely appreciative.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by goldminer (4/4/05 7:06 PM) | + / - | I had 7 orange and 1 green.print head overheat code.replace print head.I removed print head and blew from the bottom. All this foam come out of the four little holes. To see this you have to remove the 2 screws on the green housing next to the buisness end of the print head.I purged all the ink from the print head until it was completely dry.I then replaced the cartrige mechanism, powered up the printer and guess what. The error code had changed to 6 orange and 1 green.Replace cartridge. The foam i spoke of is the same stuff that you suck out of the ink tanks with a syringe to get a few more refills out of them.My cartridge is fairly new so i am still in the dark.I have rechecked my assembly procedure and everything is as it was.Mind you none of the maintenance procedures will work while errors are present.Any ideas would be appreciated.

after 3-4 yrs of tireless printing, my BJC-3000 finally conked out. it seems that the default ink cartridge (BC-33) somehow got itself fckd up and now my printer gives me the 6 orange LED show. i followed the instructions in Donal's page but that unfortunately didn't work. i got my printer working again after switching the BC-33 with the BC-34 Photo ink cartridge that came with the printer. i conclude that the culprit here is the now-defective BC-33. oh well, another hardware bites the dust....

 | Re: Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by auntiezanne (10/7/05 2:33 PM) | + / - | Wes-- SH__, I took the top of my printer off to look for the waste tank. I should have spent the same time looking for this forum, and your answer.
I did just what you said-- it took about 1 1/2 minutes-- now it is all back to working happily away.
Personally I love the BJC3000. It is so much cheaper to replace the printhead than the BJC620 I used to have!!!! And I don't have to refill the ink tanks nearly as often!!
Thank you, thank you. This is the first problem I've had in (yup, you guessed it) 3 years. I can't tell you how happy I am.
PS-- to clean printhead, dilute a little ammonia with warm water. It works better than just plain water.

The sentences on the page are striped if you will.... I have done the print head cleanings, though it does mention a roller cleaning product to insert. Where does one get this product? Anyone out there have any solutions as to how to get my printer to print normally again? It has been a pretty good printer thus far, though, from this site, I am now alarmed by the "waste ink tank " trauma.. Thanks.

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 by canon user (11/13/05 2:28 PM) | + / - | With my problem(as described before), it also printed the first page fine i.e. after i did a print head cleaning... I checked my canon bjc3000 manual(that came with the printer) It suggests that you do a print head cleaning and print a test page and repeat if it does not print properly(see the manual for exact details) My nozzle check pattern wasnt printing properly so I replaced my print head as a result and now my printer works normally again(I am not sure though what exactly what was the problem.. probably the head was clogged) Maybe you can consult your manual and see if it has identified your problem in the troubleshooting section. If not, try what i did. GOODLUCK!! Hope you are able to fix the problem.

Does anybody how I stand on this?

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by hpwizard (11/26/05 3:41 PM) | + / - | Take it back! They cannot by law refuse warranty if you use other ink, unless they supply it for free! I always advise to keep some original carts handy for these occasions! However, unless you have been doing some major printing with this, I can't see how this message would have come up within 10 months. If you search your model number with this problem you will probably find a reset anyhows. Hope this enlightens?! Dazz UK

However I haven't seen any instructions for how to actually remove and clean the full waste tank. Is there a schematic for the Canon iP2000 that shows where the tank is located and how to access it? I'm sure that mine is full, and don't want to merely keep overriding the codes; I want to clean everything.
Thanks for whatever insight anyone can offer!:)

 | Re: Canon BJC-3000 waste ink tank full by Print loco (8/19/06 12:03 AM) | + / - | I don't want to be the odd one here, but let me tell you that my canon printer BJC-3000 lasted almost intact for nearly four uninterrupted years printing over (not kidding) 20,000 b/w prints and about 1000 color ones including full color pictures on glossy paper (yes, I did spend more than 10 packages of gloosy paper 100 pages each). I will not digress from the fact that these printers are ancient, slow and... well, but here is a good alternative.
I did face similar problems listed above, but besides giving the darn thing a good wack that somehow did the job, I usually did either of the following steps to keep it going:
* turned the thing off for a few minutes, just enough to eat a snack, then turn it on again. . . (this didn work, I don't know why)
*remove the print head, clean it by removing the cartridges with a wet cloth tissue, put them back again and run the maintenance protocol, align |
