Canon BJC 6200 colour problems

Canon BJC 6200 colour problems by Jon Butlin (6/14/03 12:25 PM) reply + / -
I wonder if anyone has come across this little problem before..

I am part of a County Council unit supporting IT in local schools. I recently visited one school in the local area who uses Canon BJC 6200 in every classroom. I noticed a strange problem - on every single printer the colours are coming out wrong! Red prints out as a dark brown, yellow comes out green and there were a few other psychadelic moments!

I have tried printing out all sorts of tests, all of which seem fine (except for the colour) and have also tried re-installing the printer and downloading the latest driver from the internet. None of this has made any diffence. I am fairly new at this game - can anyone please help me?

I have a similar problem - all the yellow appears green ? My theory is there is 'bleed between the separate ink tanks ? ie. Blue & yellow tanks = green ! I am awaiting Canons response to the same question ...

Just found a response to someone else who had this problem a few months back - he fitted a new print head and it cured the problem - I guessed that might be the cure - must be the print head wears out when parked and allows bleed through ?
Expensive remedy though !!

Hope that helps - Rob

Thanks for that Rob - much appreciated! Bit expensive for the school in question though - they've got about 8 of these things....

cheers again

Jon

Are the ink tanks in the correct order?

Hi Jon, a definitive answer from Canon - sort of

They more or less confirm the 'head is worn out and needs replacing - that will cure it apparently, I think that is the consensu of most people with this problem.
As you say, an expensive remedy - try www.inkandprint.com - cheap prices, just bought my replacement from there and saved nearly £10 !
Regards,
Rob

Printer prints black fine.
I replaced the Colour cartridges and it doesn't print anything in colour.
